We are So Blessed!
We really are so blessed.
Where do I even begin?
im serious i say for hoirs trying to figure this out.
Shall i begin with prayer?
And the power we have been given in prayer.
Or shall I start with Ministry?
I can stand in awe that I am called a shepherd of God’s people and the privlifge of being a preacher.
What about the ministry of the evangerlit?
Ort maybe I will being with the various spiritual gifts:
Or maybe I can start with the power of the Holy Spirit?
I can even start at the blessings of victirous spiritual warefare.
Lets begin there, let us begin with the awsome authority and power granted to us by God.
So amazed where the disciples with this miracle that, well lets just read the passsage:
So they go out and preach the gospel, lay hands on the sick and when they return they have a joyful report.
Amazing!
This is powerful stuff my friends.
Very powerful.
And it is good!
And it comforsts us.
And it encourages us.
BUT, yes there is a BUT.
All these things are good and wonderful.
And we might be so tempted to rejoice in all our gifts and blessings, and we should, BUT not at the expense of the greatest of all gifts.
let us read Jesus reply to the 72 again:
All these blessings, all of them - Prom the power of prayer, the preaching, toi healing, to encouragment, to evalgelism, to spiritual warefare ALL of them.
They only are manifest because of our Salvation.
The Work of Jesus Christ Christ in redemption is the reason any of these blessings even exist at all.
They are gifts - But Jesus is the Giver.
And like those 72, we can easily get distracted by the gifts and forget the giver.
We can actually neglect our salvation by following after the blessings OF salvation.
Never Loose sight of the Cross
Preachers and pastors refer to this as living in the shadow of the cross.
And it means that the work done at the cross always remain close to our hearts and in our prayers of thanksgiving.
1: Our Sinful Estate
2: The incarnation.
3: The Sinless Life
4: The sacrificial Death.
5: The triumphal Resurrection.
steak house analogy.
What fills Your Plate?
Can you rejoice in all these things as Jesus commands us to?
Try...
Let us look at Scripture:
1: Sinful Nature
2: The Incarnation
3: His Sinless Life
4: His Sacrificial Death
5: His Triumphal Resurrection
