Freedom in Christ

Galatians 5:1 CSB
For freedom, Christ set us free. Stand firm then and don’t submit again to a yoke of slavery.
Restoring Freedom
Pray Unceasingly - vs 1,2
We see people huddled all over - to do something, attend something, watch something
Rarely huddled to pray and go to church
Not new programs
"What the church needs today is not machinery or better, not new organizations or more and novel methods, but men (and women) whom the Holy Spirit can use – Men (and women) mighty in prayer. The Holy Spirit does not flow through methods, but through men (and women) of prayer." EM Bounds
Restoring Freedom
Prayer is our most powerful tool
over 100 times mentioned in NT
Ephesians 6:17–18 CSB
Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit—which is the word of God. Pray at all times in the Spirit with every prayer and request, and stay alert with all perseverance and intercession for all the saints.
James 5:16 CSB
Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is very powerful in its effect.
Restoring Freedom
Live Righteously - vs 2
Called to live holy - set apart
Set an example in public and private
1 Peter 2:12 CSB
Conduct yourselves honorably among the Gentiles, so that when they slander you as evildoers, they will observe your good works and will glorify God on the day he visits.
Restoring Freedom
A lot of times this means going against the current
Not always popular
Every aspect of your life
Asking, “Who gets the glory?”
Not justifying sin - running from it
Romans 6:17–18 CSB
But thank God that, although you used to be slaves of sin, you obeyed from the heart that pattern of teaching to which you were handed over, and having been set free from sin, you became enslaved to righteousness.
Restoring Freedom
Evangelize Fervently - vs 3-4
role of everyone
Leighton Ford and Billy Graham - Leighton spoke first, Billy came incognito. BIlly met a man moved by message and asked if he anted to go forward. Man said he would wait for the big gun the next night.
1 Peter 3:15 CSB
but in your hearts regard Christ the Lord as holy, ready at any time to give a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you.
Restoring Freedom
God’s will - Know Him, Make Him Known
There will be those who reject
We tell the story - leave the rest to God
"Let us remember, as people of faith, that our primary mission is not to have a political ideology, it's to change the world so that every man, woman, boy, and girl can experience true freedom."
- Mike Huckabee
