Wisdom for the Prideful
16 How much better is it to get wisdom than gold! And to get understanding rather to be chosen than silver! 17 The highway of the upright is to depart from evil: He that keepeth his way preserveth his soul.
Now the first thing we are told that
pride brings forth is . . .
1. AN ABOMINATION TO GOD.

16 These six things doth the Lord hate: Yea, seven are an abomination unto him:
And on the top of the list is "a proud look"
or "haughty eyes."
isaiah 14.12-14
12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! How art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! 13 For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: 14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.
5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.
pride says - if you don't do everything like I do or have a different position
Now if it is wisdom you need... know
this:
Pride brings
1. ABOMINATION

2. CONTENTION WITH MAN.

10 Only by pride cometh contention: But with the well advised is wisdom.
Know
this... that pride brings first . . .
1. ABOMINATION TO GOD.
2. CONETNION WITH MAN.
3. DESTRUCTION TO SELF.
3. DESTRUCTION TO SELF.
25 The Lord will destroy the house of the proud: But he will establish the border of the widow.
Pride will drive you away from
holiness...
worship...
church...
forgiveness . . .
witnessing...
righteousness
God.
No wonder God hates pride and
therefore resist the proud.
What AM I asking you to do ?
List your prideful ways ....
