PRAISE – A DUTY, A PRIVILEGE, A PURPOSE

PSALM 34:1-4

I.                  PRAISE IS: A DUTY

A.   LAMENTATIONS 3:22, 23 “It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.”

B.    EVERY BREATH, EVERY HEART BEAT IS A NEW GIFT OF LIFE

C.    REVELATION 4:11 “Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.”

II.               PRAISE IS: A PRIVILEGE

A.   GOD ACCEPTS OUR PRAISE, AS GLORIFYING HIM

B.    PRAYS DRAWS US TO HOLINESS

C.    PRAISE BRINGS SUNSHINE TO OUR DARKEST TIMES

D.   PRAISE DRAWS US CLOSE TO GOD

1.    NOT SEEKING SOMETHING FROM HIM

2.    BUT GIVING TO HIM

III.           PRAISE: HAS A HOLY PURPOSE

A.   A HOLY HABIT

B.    LENDS STRENGTH TO OUR WITNESS

C.    FILLS OUR LIVES WITH CONTINUOUS JOY

D.   REVIEWING GOD’S MERCIES WILL CAUSE PRAISE TO COME AUTOMATICALLY

IV.           OUR RESPONSE TO GOD

A.   AS LOVE SERVANTS

B.    WORSHIP AND ADORATION

C.    SHARING HIS GOODNESS WITH OTHERS
