Sermon Tone Analysis

We are reading from first Corinthians 13:4-8

4 Love is patient, love is kind.

It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.

5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.

6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.

7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.8 Love never fails.

8 Love never fails.

We continue our reading in the book of Romans chapter 12 verses 9-13.

Love must be sincere.

Hate what is evil; cling to what is good.

10 Be devoted to one another in love.

Honor one another above yourselves.

11 Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord.

12 Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.

13 Share with the Lord’s people who are in need.Practice hospitality.

Dear brothers and Sisters, friends and family and ofcourse Christina and Chris,

If you have spent some time at the beaches there is a big chance that you have heard a song of Bob Marly (the rasta guy)One of his songs goes like this -and i will not be singing it, Ill spare you that- and no Chris it’s not “no woman no Cry”

I wanna love you and treat you right,

I wanna love you and treat you right

I wanna love you every day and every night.

One of his songs goes like this -and i will not be singing it, Ill spare you that-

sounds great right?

but there is a thing in this song.

There is a big difference in wanna love you of loving you.

Imagine that God would have said to the world: I wanna love you instead of saying and acting that He is loving us..

The whole thing is: our vision of love, and the meaning of love has changed over the last couple of decades.

Now love is something that you feel only, it is something we use when we try to describe the warm fuzzy feeling we have or when we like something.

Even Mac Donalds has used and transformed it.

“I’m Loving it”.

Well, It’s just something that happens” you could say.

But that’s why we have Gods Word.

It’s unfailing and perfect, and unchanging, and it lasts for eternity.

We read about love in Gods eyes.

It is a whole different story than what we see on Netflix or in the magazines.

The bible says: Love is something you do with patience and it lasts always.

It is not in the first place a medium to receive but to give to another.

Real love is not selfseeking.

God gave us the ability to love because it reflects who He is.

So if you love you show something of God.

It is like preaching without words.

You know what else is preaching without words?

A marriage.

The husband reflects Christ, who came to give, to share, to serve the church.

And the wife reflects the Church.

She is there to trust her husband that everything he does is for te good of them together.

She is there to obey Him because he knows whats best for her.

Don’t you ever mix humbleness and obedience with slavery or Injustice.

Love must be sincere we read… That’s a big thing Chris!

To love her in all sincerety Not trying to earn something back with it.

And Christina for you no less.

You can make your husband or break your husband.

When he is looking into your eyes he looses every bit of his mind.

I tell you don’t abuse your power towards eachother, let it be sincere between you and fight, work to keep it like that.

Only then you will glorify God in your marriage.

We know the first years very often are the most easy and exciting ones.

But there will come a time that there is the risk of becoming dull in marriage.

that you’ll get bored, or that it seems to be more exiting elewhere than at home.

The apostle Paul advices us: never lose your zeal for eachother and to work of fight for it.

Make something great for your kids ( if God grants them you you) and for your grandchildren.

Let them look up to you in the knowledge that although is was not all perfect in life it was sincere and bonded together with the cords of Love that God gave you.

We know the first years aree the most easy.

Chris: you’ll be Christ in the relation: don’t try to do miracles like dividing the waters or walking on it.

But do your utmost best to give yourself without limits emotionally, fhysickly ( that doens’t count for the bedroom only but also when something needs to be done in or around the house, rememer that) and spiritually!

Christina: You’ll be the church.

I grew up with four sisters under one roof, I know woman don’t ever forget something that went wrong or was wrong.there

was often a fight about something that happened many weeks or even years ago.

Something triggerd them and they found everything in history to go to war with eachother about it.

You will have to forget all things that go wrong or are wrong!

Of course you can point them out, and try to solve them together, but don’t keep any records of it.

Let it be to speak with the Beatles...

Together you’ll have the most amazing Gift of God: it isn’t something small and meaningless like the world sees it.

It is the most important thing that mankind received: Love! Love changes everything.

It makes a grumpy face dissapear after a rainy day.

It makes tears of sadness to dry up after your loved one comes and wipes them away in a simple act of love.

It makes the problem of loneliness go away in an instant, because love has brought you together.

I tell you love, love is changing the way we look at eachtoher, and It changes the way that we tink about each other.

When Jezus was asked what the most inportant law that God gave us was, He answhered and said: thy shalt love the Lord your God with al of your heart and all of your mind and all of you strenght.

And thy shall love your neihgbour as yourself.

Love eachother.

In the end it is not money that changes the world but the love of God we received.

It was Love that made God sacrifice his Son.

It was Love that made Jesus willingly go to the cross.

It was love that made him search for us And it is love that had bound us.

We love Him because He first loved us.

Love my dear friends is all there is to it.

We where called to love.

Love makes you do strange things.

It lets you forget about yourself and give to another.

Love makes us able to forgive and be forgiven.

Love makes us humble and lets us wash each others feet Like Jesus did it to his Disciples.

My dear friends i need to close now.

Love is getting fed not with flowers and fancy dinners, love is getting fed with together time, prayer hope and faith.

When you feed it, it grows.

When it grows youll enjoy her fruits, and what’s not atractive to that.
