The Beginning of Brexit

Play Video
The year was 2016 the UK had just said we do not want Europe anymore.
We as a nation told our government that the people are fed up with the current situation

Our World Swept From Our Feet

Daniel 1:1–2 ESV
In the third year of the reign of Jehoiakim king of Judah, Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came to Jerusalem and besieged it. And the Lord gave Jehoiakim king of Judah into his hand, with some of the vessels of the house of God. And he brought them to the land of Shinar, to the house of his god, and placed the vessels in the treasury of his god.
After the Brexit vote a lot of us felt that our world had changed
What we once knew is no more
Our laws are going to change our country will change
It is like a new king has come in and taken over and we are not sure of our future just like Daniel and the people of Jerusalem
God gave Nebuchadnezzar Jerusalem because the king was allowing idols and immorality to go on. This was staining Gods people who he loved and Jerusalem was a holy place where God resided. Therefore God gave Jerusalem over to the Babylonians to teach the Israelite's a lesson.
The Israelites never took God seriously. They didn't listen to him, just as today people simply don’t listen or take notice of the word of God seriously.
The Israelites never took God seriously. They didn't listen to him, just as today people simply don’t listen or take notice of the word of God seriously.
Winston Churchill, when he was called to the Admiralty at the beginning of the war,
bedside the Prime Minister had left a bible
Verse that spoke to Churchill: God said to Moses and the people of Israel: Don’t ever think that I am driving them out before you because you are better than them, I am driving them out before you because they are wicked.
Churchill was told right there and then by God himself: Don’t you think that if you win the war it is because you are better than them, it is because I am dealing with their wickedness.
What Britain desperately needs today is Christians right at the top, Christians in position of responsibility

Being put into the places of Leadership

Daniel 1:17–21 ESV
As for these four youths, God gave them learning and skill in all literature and wisdom, and Daniel had understanding in all visions and dreams. At the end of the time, when the king had commanded that they should be brought in, the chief of the eunuchs brought them in before Nebuchadnezzar. And the king spoke with them, and among all of them none was found like Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah. Therefore they stood before the king. And in every matter of wisdom and understanding about which the king inquired of them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and enchanters that were in all his kingdom. And Daniel was there until the first year of King Cyrus.
What Britain desperately needs today is Christians right at the top, Christians in position of responsibility.
We need people that will speak out for God and honour God in every way. Not to just sit and go with what ever the government says like some churches are but ones to really go no this is not what God wants for us.
We need people willing to put their neck out and stick to what God is doing.
Because of Daniels decision not to eat the meat sacrificed to the pagan Gods, God the father gave them more than what they asked for, not only the worldly education but dreams and vision and the wisdom of heaven.
God knows what he is doing, God put Daniel in the middle of a pagan empire because God is in control and God rules in the Kingdoms of men.
Because Daniel would not eat the meat at Sixteen the Lions did not eat him at ninety.

Keeping calm in times like these

May feel like we are not being heard
Since Brexit a lot of people feel that they were not listened to What we voted for inst happening
Its making a lot of people angry at the Government but also its making people angry at each other on both sides of the fence Leave or Remain.
We are all feeling like our country is running away in a direction we dont want it to go to and the leadership of the country are not listening nor caring about what happens to us all.
What do we do in this situation?
Daniel 2:14–16 ESV
Then Daniel replied with prudence and discretion to Arioch, the captain of the king’s guard, who had gone out to kill the wise men of Babylon. He declared to Arioch, the king’s captain, “Why is the decree of the king so urgent?” Then Arioch made the matter known to Daniel. And Daniel went in and requested the king to appoint him a time, that he might show the interpretation to the king.
Daniel was a great example of keeping control of his emotions even though there were problems arising in his direction. He kept on going even though the task would seem to big.
When Daniel was condemned to death he kept a cool head trusted in Gods plan and said to the executioner Arioch, “Tell us what this is all about; whats the matter?”
Daniel also showed courage to be able to go straight to the King and ask for some time to figure out the dream.

Praying for a Miracle

Sometimes we feel like we need to pray for a miracle
The task ahead four our country is a big one
As Christians we need to be praying and asking God what does he want
What does this all mean for us all.
Where does he want his Church the building and his people us to be going?
Daniel 2:17–19 ESV
Then Daniel went to his house and made the matter known to Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah, his companions, and told them to seek mercy from the God of heaven concerning this mystery, so that Daniel and his companions might not be destroyed with the rest of the wise men of Babylon. Then the mystery was revealed to Daniel in a vision of the night. Then Daniel blessed the God of heaven.
Daniel went back to his friends and got them all to pray
We need to come to one another and pray together.
Churches are strong not just when individuals within them pray but when they get together to pray - that is when God moves.
After God gave Daniel the vision about the Kings dream, Daniel went to prayer
Prayer of Thanks Giving
God Loves praise
We must always praise and worship God for what he does in our lives.

Giving God the Glory

Daniel 2:26–28 ESV
The king declared to Daniel, whose name was Belteshazzar, “Are you able to make known to me the dream that I have seen and its interpretation?” Daniel answered the king and said, “No wise men, enchanters, magicians, or astrologers can show to the king the mystery that the king has asked, but there is a God in heaven who reveals mysteries, and he has made known to King Nebuchadnezzar what will be in the latter days. Your dream and the visions of your head as you lay in bed are these:
Daniel gave God the glory and never took any of the praise from the King, he always reminded the King about his God and that its his God’s doing not his own.
“There’s a God in heaven who tells secrets.”
“There’s a God in heaven who tells secrets.”
Don’t forget to always give God the glory.

What the Dream means for us right now as a country.

Daniel 2:42–43 ESV
And as the toes of the feet were partly iron and partly clay, so the kingdom shall be partly strong and partly brittle. As you saw the iron mixed with soft clay, so they will mix with one another in marriage, but they will not hold together, just as iron does not mix with clay.
Some theologians believe that the last part of the statue is about us and where we are now.
Its about our democracy system. In reference to the mixing of the materials Ion and Clay
They say the system we have now does not hold together and their are riots and uproars and this is not how God designed it.
They say that God Designed man to be governed by a King and that we should be under his leadership. Just like in Daniels day.
Daniel 2:44–45 ESV
And in the days of those kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that shall never be destroyed, nor shall the kingdom be left to another people. It shall break in pieces all these kingdoms and bring them to an end, and it shall stand forever, just as you saw that a stone was cut from a mountain by no human hand, and that it broke in pieces the iron, the bronze, the clay, the silver, and the gold. A great God has made known to the king what shall be after this. The dream is certain, and its interpretation sure.”
The rock at the end of the statue is the Kingdom of God and will eventually smash all man made Kingdoms and will establish its own rule.
The Stone is one of the titles of Jesus . There are many places within the bible that it is mentioned. , Isiah 8, Matthew and in also in . All the way through you find Jesus the stone which the builders rejected, has been made the head of the corner the chief cornerstone the rock our rock of ages. There is no doubt that the Stone represents Christ our Christ and it will one day smash human civilisation and build their place as a Kingdom of God.

Love

In 2016 the top Search term for that year on Google was Love
Play Video
Are we all not just searching to be herd
To be loved?
As Churches we have love we know Love
As Church leaders we show love
Therefore the people in our world are acting out they are voting and going into two, two camps but they are looking for Love.
As Christians we should be asking God give me a heart for these people a word for these people. Give me a place of influence a place of leadership to show these people your love.
If the world is wanting to see love then lets go out there and show them Love!!

What do we do now?

Be like Daniel
Trust in God
Pray by yourselves regularly but as a Church as a community of People
Ask God for guidance
Keep your cool no matter what
Trust that one Day the Kingdom of God will come
As a church we must be able to talk to people and tell them about Jesus
Tell them that after all this Brexit there is still hope.
There is always Hope because at the end of the day Jesus will come and his Kingdom is the one that will last
One that we are already citizens of.
