As we look at what the Leaven of the Sadducees/Herod was, I want us to ask ourselves 2 main questions
Do You practice/accept any of the leaven in your life?
Are you practically a Sadducee/Herodian?
The sadducees/Herodians had a collection of beliefs and practices that made them distinct from the Pharisees and other groups.

Herodians and Sadducees are 2 smaller groups of one bigger group as per cross-references with , etc.
Herod’s part was looking at religion as something they needed to have in order to have legitimacy.
The Sadducees saw political compromise as the way to keep power and not be wiped out by the Romans.

The Herodians encouraged the compromising of religious beliefs/teaching to make the Romans happy and to win their favour so that they would retain their national independence and pride.
The Romans gave the Jews a special exception…They could maintain their Temple worship and NOT ADD Roman gods...
They allowed this because of Herod’s help to the Romans in battle
Herod ruled what was considered all of Israel.

15 เราจะส่งดีหรือไม่ส่งดี" แต่พระองค์ทรงทราบอุบายของเขาจึงตรัสแก่เขาว่า "ท่านทั้งหลายมาทดลองเราทำไม จงเอาเงินตราเหรียญหนึ่งมาให้เราดู"
16 เขาก็เอามาให้ พระองค์จึงตรัสถามเขาว่า "รูปและคำจารึกนี้เป็นของใคร" เขาทูลตอบพระองค์ว่า "ของซีซาร์"
17 พระเยซูจึงตรัสแก่เขาว่า "ของของซีซาร์ จงถวายแก่ซีซาร์ และของของพระเจ้า จงถวายแด่พระเจ้า" ฝ่ายเขาก็ประหลาดใจในพระองค์
13 And they send unto him certain of the Pharisees and of the Herodians, to catch him in his words.
14 And when they were come, they say unto him, Master, we know that thou art true, and carest for no man: for thou regardest not the person of men, but teachest the way of God in truth: Is it lawful to give tribute to Caesar, or not?
15 Shall we give, or shall we not give? But he, knowing their hypocrisy, said unto them, Why tempt ye me? bring me a penny, that I may see it.
16 And they brought it. And he saith unto them, Whose is this image and superscription? And they said unto him, Caesar's.
17 And Jesus answering said unto them, Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's. And they marvelled at him.
The Herodians used religion to keep political power and the sadducees used politics to keep their religious power.
However, in 6AD, the Romans made one of their own governor of the areas of Judea and Samaria.
The Herodians and Sadducees wanted to see this changed, but they did not want to lose the power they had. Staying loyal to Herod’s sons meant they had some political power.

6 But when Paul perceived that the one part were Sadducees, and the other Pharisees, he cried out in the council, Men and brethren, I am a Pharisee, the son of a Pharisee: of the hope and resurrection of the dead I am called in question.
7 And when he had so said, there arose a dissension between the Pharisees and the Sadducees: and the multitude was divided.
8 For the Sadducees say that there is no resurrection, neither angel, nor spirit: but the Pharisees confess both.
The OT mentions angels about 120 +/- times.
Spirits are mentioned over 250 times (some are references to a person’s spirit).
For them to reject the spirit world and angels is to reject the clear Word of God.
What Bible teaching are we willing to set aside so that we can increase our position or gain the approval of people?OR, What Bible teaching are we rejecting because Politicians and people of science and learning tell us that it is ridiculous?

8 จงระวังให้ดี เกรงว่าจะมีผู้ใดทำให้ท่านตกเป็นเหยื่อด้วยหลักปรัชญาและด้วยคำล่อลวงอันไม่มีสาระ ตามธรรมเนียมของมนุษย์ ตามหลักการต่างๆที่เป็นของโลก ไม่ใช่ตามพระคริสต์
9 เพราะว่าในพระองค์นั้นสภาพของพระเจ้าดำรงอยู่อย่างบริบูรณ์
