() destruction of the political structure
() destruction of economy
() destruction of perceived wisdom

() a change in how they consider Judah
() a deep change in allegiance of worship
() a change in who they sacrifice to
() a change in national borders/allegiance

The Deterrent for Judah - The LORD allows these examples as deterrents for those who are tempted to NOT trust in Him.

() unique object lesson
() the object lesson explained

Point:

The LORD delights in seeing enemies turn and trust in Him.

Proposition:

Our beliefs about other nations should be consistent with the desire of the LORD of hosts.
What is his desire and what has he done to make this possible?
This verse tells it all:
the Lamb
white robes
palms in their hands

Application:

(1) Our hearts should be settled - the LORD is the ultimate Judge of the nations

- Guard against vengefulness personally by remembering the gospel of Jesus Christ
A warner to the LOST...

(2) Our hope should not be in politics, economy, or men’s wisdom

See the nations as places to be conquered for Christ rather than places to be conquered for political advantage.
How do we consider Iran? Should we let the media shape our perspective or the scriptures?
While our government is given to protect so that we may worship peaceably, we should guard against sentiments that are arrogant:
How? Remember that our enemy-status against God was exceedingly great.
Economically:
Use your gain as a means to get the gospel to those who are enemies of God.
Wisdom:
Remember that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom
Because you have Jesus, live your live in holy reverence towards God. -

(3) Our help should be devoted to seeing enemies of the LORD turned to worshippers of Him

Invest in getting your children on to a field.
Speak in a good manner about living overseas for Christ
Find a missionary that your local church supports and build a relationship with them.
