How did leaders in scripture address God’s people to talk to them about difficult issues?
How did leaders in scripture address God’s people to talk to them about difficult issues?
In the leaders came together to discuss how to handle the issues that stemmed from Jew/Gentile relations in the church.
After discussion and coming to a conclusion the leaders sent leaders with a letter to share the conclusion with the believers. The conclusion promoted peace between the Jews and Gentiles.
Whatever is done to discuss the issues with others we would do well to seek to share it in a graceful ()and encouraging way. ()
ALSO : They traveled and delivered the decision to the churches that the Apostles and elders reached.
As they went on their way through the cities, they delivered to them for observance the decisions that had been reached by the apostles and elders who were in Jerusalem.
HOW CAN DIFFICULT ISSUES BE ADDRESS WITH WISDOM AND GRACE?
If you have someone you trust talking about a touchy issue trust them to handle it is a good way. If you feel they need help then ask them what they think about the issue. If they need guidance, guide them.
If something needs to be addressed the elders and minister or leader can go and discuss the issue.
How did leaders in scripture address God’s people to talk to them about difficult issues?
On a broader scale:
ON A BROADER SCALE:
If there are issues that need to be studied and clarified then the leadership should do that (just as we are trying to do with meeting like this one.)
If at all possible we should stand together and be consistent in the treatment of the topics.
(We should be careful not to push issues that might be divisive but not essential that we agree on.)
JUST IDEAS:
If we need to address certain issues on a widespread scale and rather frequently we could:
Have the stance that we hold on certain issues written out and accessible to people who are going to lead (such as small group leaders, interns, class teachers, etc.)?
