On September 17th, 1778…
NONETHELESS, I’d like to welcome you to WORSHIP AT THE WELL…
Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, Thomas Paine and John Adams…
All under the supervision of the one and only George Washington…
For those of you who don’t know me… my name is Trey/ or Pastor Trey…
Created a document… this document would…
#1.Establish our nations government…
I have the privilege of serving as the LEAD PASTOR…
#2.
Confirm Fundamental laws…
And #3.
Protect the rights and privileges of its citizens…………………
This document… is known as…The Constitution of the United States…
FOUNDING PASTOR here at THE WELL…
One of the rights…which this document sought out to PROTECT…
--Was THE PEOPLE’S right to VOTE…
THE WELL IS A CHURCH ON A MISSION…
Article 15 section 1 states that…“Citizens of the united states have the right/privilege to VOTE…”
*A right that just 80 years ago…Would NOT have been afforded to women…
*A right that just 40 years ago…Would NOT have been afforded to ME…
--A mission to live a LIFE with CHRIST…
because of the color of my skin…And so I take this RIGHT…this PRIVELEDGE…
To be educated on POLITICAL ISSUES… the right to vote… and to have a voice… seriously…
--Live a LIFE in COMMUNITY…
AS I hope you do too…
I believe as Christians JESUS calls us to VOTE…
--And live a LIFE of CHARITY…
In fact, I believe scripture gives us the impression that not only should we vote,
but to take it seriously, WHY?
Because I believe we will be accountable to GOD for what and whom we vote for………..
Now… Quick History Lesson
Our FOCUS for the REMAINDER of 2016 and all of 2017…
You will find NO mention of political parties…in the CONSTITUTION of the UNITED STATES…
WHY?
Because when it was created…Political parties didn’t exist…
…is to DROP THE BUCKET and PICK UP THE NET…
Now, the politicians of that time… had many differences with each other…
HOWEVER, they were attempting to keep the country from DIVISION…
-from factions…
That is… Leave the 4 walls of the church and GO…
-from organized opposing groups/ parties…..…which looking back, was probably the WISEST THING A COUNTRY COULD EVER DO…
BTW: A lot of that had to do with GEORGE WASHINGTON…
Go and be fishers of MEN… and WOMEN…
Everyone loved GEORGE WASHINGTON… …….
So much so…that at one time……G.W won like every ELECTORAL VOTE POSSIBLE……..
Which would be POLITICALLY IMPOSSIBLE TODAY…….
In fact, soon we will do just that…
However, in 1796… George Washington decides to step down… after 2 terms…
of PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES…and around this same time…
As Karsten, alluded to earlier…
the country began to DIVIDE… it began to slip into TWO CAMPS…
1--on one side was JON ADAMS and ALEXANDER HAMILTON…
Sunday, October 30th, instead of gathering within these 4 walls…
and they formed, what was called… the FEDERALIST’S…
2--On the other side…
Was JAMES MADISON and THOMAS JEFFERSON… they formed the DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC…….
**We will MEET HERE… and HEAD OVER TOGETHER to Golden Triangle…
Now, during this time people began to say “I follow JON ADAMS!”
Or well “ I FOLLOW JAMES MADISON.”

OH YEAH?
Well, I follow ALEXANDER HAMILTON!”
“Well, I’m TEAM THOMAS JEFERSON…”

In other words… You think you have it all figured out, but you are still drinking milk…You think you are operating in the spirit, but you are actually operating in the flesh…

And American POLITICIANS called for UNITY…
