Theme Verse: Jesus looked at them and said, "With man this is impossible, but with God

all things are possible." (Matthew 19:26; cf. Mark 10:27; Luke 18:27)

5 V.B.S. Lessons –

1)      God can shine a light on the mirage of deception (Paul – Acts 9)

2)      God can reveal the combination to the lock of obstructed dreams (Cornelius – Acts 10)

3)      God can knock on the door of doubt (Peter in prison – Acts 12)

4)      God can give you a song in the prison of discouragement (Paul & Silas – Acts 16)

5)      God can give you an anchor in the sea of distraction (Paul on ship – Acts 27)

Listen to other verses:

·         "'If you can'?" said Jesus. "Everything is possible for him who believes." (Mark 9:23)

·         "Abba, Father," he said, "everything is possible for you. Take this cup from me. Yet not what I will, but what you will." (Mark 14:36)

·         I can do everything through him who gives me strength. (Phil 4:13)

·         No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. (Rom 8:37)

Think of past examples:

-          Isaac’s birth (Gen. 18-21)

-          Israel’s crossing the Red Sea (Exod. 14)

-          Gideon’s army of 300 versus the Midianite army (Judges 7-8)

-          David and Goliath (1 Sam. 17)

-           Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego (Dan. 3)

-          Daniel in the lion’s den (Dan. 6)

-          Jesus’ birth (Matthew 1)

-          Lazarus’s resurrection (John 11)

-          Jesus’ death & resurrection

The two most powerful words in the Bible:

“BUT GOD” – Eph. 2:4

Ø  He had to step in to make salvation possible.

-          We could not save ourselves

-          The law could not save us.

Ø  John 3:16

God can/has made the impossible possible.

·         Salvation

·         Prayer

Do we have faith? (cf. 2 Cor. 5:7)
