Recap

Genuine Love
Big Grace
The truth of the matter

Where’s the problem?

The problem with evangelism and outreach is not with the state of the world or those who are far from God. It is with the people of God.
Matthew 9:35–38 NIV
35 Jesus went through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom and healing every disease and sickness. 36 When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. 37 Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. 38 Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.”
Matt. 9:
The harvest is fine, the workers are few.
Each of us has an outreach temperature.
There is an idea that we can apply to help us raise our temperature and find a renewed passion for harvesting (outreach)

Baby Steps and 1 degree rule

****Show Video****
From 1 to 10, we should work on increasing our temperature by one degree every day.
We may enter the day at different temps, but we can still look to increase it every day.
Can you identify where you are?
It is not about position or prestige, it is about self-discipline and awareness.
Do not compare yourself to anyone else, focus on YOUR temp.

How to raise the temp:

Engage in prayer consistently.
Prayer for lost people
Prayer for your heart and your temp.
Prayers of thanks for what God has done in you personally in your life.
Make time with those who are far from God
Find where they are and be there.
Invite them into your life and home.
Pour into them.
Time is an indicator of your passion. Time is a resource you spend that shows how much you value something or someone.
Make celebration natural
When someone comes to know Jesus, CELEBRATE IT!
When a milestone is reached in someone’s personal life, celebrate it!
Spend time reflecting on eternity
Connecting with the eternal nature of us as beings should motivate us. Anyone we see on the road could be bound for an eternity devoid of all good, how sad is that? The infants we see in strollers could go their whole life without Christ. Your grandchildren could. Lets let that raise our temp a bit.

Challenge:

Open your eyes: Ask God to show you how he sees lost people
Check your schedule. Sit down for a few minutes and think of a consistent time you could spend around people who don’t know Jesus.
Identify your temp. What would it look like if it ran one degree hotter?
