I am an ordinary guy.
I grew up in in Lawton Oklahoma and could never have planned how my life would turn out.

a. Faith story – Christian home, caring pastor, call to ministry came at the same time as salvation.
Found out years later that my mother had prayed for a son who would be a minister.

Small town boy who grew up without a dad in my life until I was about 12. Dad was gone 2 years to Korean War and when he returned was not really involved on our lives unless we got into trouble.

It just never crossed my mind that what I thought about doing was not possible.

God’s word has played a huge role in our lives especially in our decision-making.

My Bucket list –
I have flown in a Soviet helicopter high into the Steppes of Central Asia and eaten a sheep’s eyeball and drunk fermented mare’s milk.
I have driven over the Salang pass in Afghanistan
I have had communion on the Great Wall of China and seen the Terra Cotta warriors of Xi’an.
I have seen wild game in Botswana, swum in the Indian Ocean and pulled a rickshaw in Madagascar.

I have been lost in the Medina in Marrakech, slept at the base of Kilimanjaro and seen Mt.

I have had a picnic on a boat in the Nile and ridden a camel between the Great Pyramid and the Sphinx.
I have walked down the street called straight in Damascus and visited the Blue Mosque in Istanbul.
I have stood at the base of the Eifel Tower in Paris and on Mars Hill in Athens.
I have looked out of the bottom of a tanker and watched a stealth bomber attach itself in flight so it could be refueled.
As exciting as these events were these are not stories that I tell.
These stories pale in comparison to the adventure that I have had in watching first hand as God showed his power in order that His name may be made great to the ends of the earth.
There is nothing that compares to watching lives being transformed by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Years ago God began to help me to understand that the desire of his heart was that his name would be made great to the ends of the earth and that there was no greater adventure than to be part of that.
God has done immeasurably more than I could ever ask our think.
The stories of God’s faithfulness have filled my “bucket list”.
