There were two evil brothers.
They were rich, and used their money to keep their ways from the public eye.
They even attended the same church, and looked to be perfect Christians.
\\ \\ Then their pastor retired, and a new one was hired.
Not only could he see right through the brothers' deception, but he also spoke well and true, and the church started to swell in numbers.
\\ \\ A fund raising campaign was started to build a new assembly.
All of a sudden, one of the brothers died.
The remaining brother sought out the new pastor the day before the funeral and handed him a check for the amount needed to finish paying for the new building.

"At his funeral, you must say my brother was a saint."

Character is not something you have; it is something you are that inevitably shows itself in what you do.
It is determined by the stories of which you are a part.
As the concept of character makes a highly visible comeback in our public conversation, we must rescue it from glib politicians, do-gooders and busybody moralizers.
When we worry about our character and that of our children--and we should--we ought to think of stories.
We should more purposefully choose the stories in which we are characters.

ÿ To create Christ-Like Character we must be willing to *put on new things* that will strengthen our walk with God and with others:
o As spouses we have an opportunity to reflect God’s love and care in the way we *treat each other*.
This models to our children Christ Like love.
