In the sixth of our selected scenes from Revelation, we turn to chapter 20 where Satan is defeated once and for all. God allows Satan to reign on the earth for a limited amount of time, which is our present reality. But we are not to lose hope. Even though we will be persecuted for being faithful to God, persecution and even death have no power over us. We are assured that because we already died to sin in our baptism, our physical death is not to be feared. Instead we have a guarantee of eternal life with God in heaven. And after the devil's allotted time is over, God will put a permanent end to him. God Wins! The scene that follows shows us the fate of those who will be separated from God because they failed to put their trust in Him, which gives us renewed urgency to share God's love and truth with those in darkness.
