Matthew 7:15–20 (NKJV) False and True Teaching Luke 6:43–45 15 l“Beware of false prophets, mwho come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. 16 nYou will know them by their fruits. oDo men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles? 17 Even so, pevery good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. 19 qEvery tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 Therefore by their fruits you will know them.1 Galatians 5:16–23 (NKJV) Walking in the Spirit 16 I say then: uWalk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. 17 For vthe flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, wso that you do not do the things that you wish. 18 But xif you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. 19 Now ythe works of the flesh are evident, which are: 4adultery, 5fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, 20 idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, 21 envy, 6murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that zthose who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. 22 But athe fruit of the Spirit is blove, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, cgoodness, dfaithfulness, 23 7gentleness, self-control. eAgainst such there is no law. 2 Revelation 2:1–4 (NKJV) The Loveless Church 2 “To the 1angel of the church of Ephesus write, ‘These things says aHe who holds the seven stars in His right hand, bwho walks in the midst of the seven golden lampstands: 2 c“I know your works, your labor, your 2patience, and that you cannot 3bear those who are evil. And dyou have tested those ewho say they are apostles and are not, and have found them liars; 3 and you have persevered and have patience, and have labored for My name’s sake and have fnot become weary. 4 Nevertheless I have this against you, that you have left your first love. 3 Revelation 2:18–22 (NKJV) The Corrupt Church 18 “And to the 8angel of the church in Thyatira write, ‘These things says the Son of God, awho has eyes like a flame of fire, and His feet like fine brass: 19 b“I know your works, love, 9service, faith, and your 1patience; and as for your works, the last are more than the first. 20 Nevertheless I have 2a few things against you, because you allow 3that woman cJezebel, who calls herself a prophetess, 4to teach and seduce My servants dto commit sexual immorality and eat things sacrificed to idols. 21 And I gave her time eto 5repent of her sexual immorality, and she did not repent. 22 Indeed I will cast her into a sickbed, and those who commit adultery with her into great tribulation, unless they repent of 6their deeds. 4 2 Timothy 4:3–4 (NLT) 3 For a time is coming when people will no longer listen to sound and wholesome teaching. They will follow their own desires and will look for teachers who will tell them whatever their itching ears want to hear. 4 They will reject the truth and chase after myths. 5 1 Thessalonians 5:19–22 (NKJV) 19 yDo not quench the Spirit. 20 zDo not despise prophecies. 21 aTest all things; bhold fast what is good. 22 Abstain from every form of evil.6
