Grow your Purpose Part 2

We will continue our message from last week on Purpose.

We will continue our message from last week on Purpose.

We will continue our message from last week on Purpose.
Today we will continue our message from last week on Growing in Purpose. Let me first say that if you want to grow IN your purpose you must grow ON purpose.
Ruth Experienced Handfuls of purpose
Ruth 2:15–16 NKJV
15 And when she rose up to glean, Boaz commanded his young men, saying, “Let her glean even among the sheaves, and do not reproach her. 16 Also let grain from the bundles fall purposely for her; leave it that she may glean, and do not rebuke her.”
Notice that Boaz didn’t deliver the handfuls of purpose to Naomi's house Ruth had to go out and find them.
Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed—not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence—continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose" ().
God directs our steps
Psalm 37:23 NKJV
23 The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, And He delights in his way.
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose" ().
His Word is our Guide
Psalm 119:133 NKJV
133 Direct my steps by Your word, And let no iniquity have dominion over me.
He has saved us and called us to a holy life—not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace" ().
Iniquity (Immorality) hinders the guidance of the Word of God in our lives
“But I have raised you up for this very purpose, that I might show you my power and that my name might be proclaimed in all the earth" ().
Psalm 37:23 NKJV
23 The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, And He delights in his way.
Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed—not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence—continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose" ().
Psalm 37:23
Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect
He’s not finished yet Keep working on it

Philippians 2:12–13 NIV (Anglicised, 2011)
12 Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed—not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence—continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, 13 for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfil his good purpose.
Children’s song “He’s Still Working On Me”
Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed—not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence—continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose" ().
All things work together for the Good
Romans 8:28 NKJV
28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.
The question is, Are you called according to His purpose or your own?
2 Timothy 1:9 NKJV
9 who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace which was given to us in Christ Jesus before time began,
He has saved us and called us to a holy life—not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace" ().
Exodus 9:16 NKJV
16 But indeed for this purpose I have raised you up, that I may show My power in you, and that My name may be declared in all the earth.
King David had to Grow into His Purpose
1 Samuel 16:11–13 NKJV
11 And Samuel said to Jesse, “Are all the young men here?” Then he said, “There remains yet the youngest, and there he is, keeping the sheep.” And Samuel said to Jesse, “Send and bring him. For we will not sit down till he comes here.” 12 So he sent and brought him in. Now he was ruddy, with bright eyes, and good-looking. And the Lord said, “Arise, anoint him; for this is the one!” 13 Then Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him in the midst of his brothers; and the Spirit of the Lord came upon David from that day forward. So Samuel arose and went to Ramah.
1 Samuel 16:11-
David was around 10 - 12 when Samuel anointed him king
David was around 23 when he defeated Goliath
David hits the battle field in his early thirties
David Waits approximately 30 years before he is raised up and publicly installed as the king of Isreal
Philippians 2:12–13 NKJV

).
1 Timothy 6:12 NKJV
12 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.
Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect
1 Timothy 6:20–21 NKJV
20 O Timothy! Guard what was committed to your trust, avoiding the profane and idle babblings and contradictions of what is falsely called knowledge— 21 by professing it some have strayed concerning the faith. Grace be with you. Amen.
Romans 12:2 NKJV
2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
