Last week we talked about the importance of understanding the Kingdom mindset
All Kingdoms have the following characteristics:
A A King and Lord-- a sovereign b.
A Territory-- a domain c.
A Constitution-- a royal covenant d.
A Citizenry-- a community of subjects e.
The Law-- acceptable principles f.  Privileges-- rights and benefits g.
A Code of Ethics-- acceptable lifestyles and conducts h.
An Army-- security i.
A Commonwealth-- economic security, and j.
A Social Culture-- protocol and procedures
It is within the structure of the Kingdom of God that that the power of the Holy Spirit is displayed
Remember that the rule of the King is absolute and that all things are subject to Him!
Since we are discussing legal issues, it is interesting to note here that the word “Commanded” isn’t the military one but rather the one relating to legal affairs!
It is the verb of a “directive from an authoritative source”
Jesus invoked His “Legal authority” over the demon.
He did not confront it by force!
Remember that moving in the power of the Holy Spirit is an issue of “legal” position not a match of superior power or might!
It is understand your legal position in Christ and His authority over this world
Jesus Himself exercised God’s authority
When Jesus sent out the disciples He delegated his authority to the disciples, they experienced what it was to move in the power of the Holy Spirit for the Holy Spirit had not yet been released to dwell “in” men
But on the day of Pentecost, Jesus released His authority to His church
They were waiting for the fullness of the Holy Spirit’s power to come upon them.
The experienced it, but now would possess it
In Isa we read that the land was a wasteland and dead until God would pour out His Spirit
Are you seeing the picture?
Our lives were a wasteland of sin until we were born again of the Spirit of God!
While we immediately think about Jesus ministry and remember these verses:
You see the promise of the Father wasn’t an invention of the pentecostal movement!
It had been long prophesied and then found its fulfillment in Christ in us!
Paul to Timothy
This is the gift of the Holy Spirt, the promise of Christ in you
Look at the result of the infilling of the Holy Spirit:
I could go on and encourage you to read through Acts this week and see the transformational power of the Holy Spirt to change lives
Next week we will look at the “gifts of the Holy Spirit” which are tools employed to confirm the Words of the Scripture and the M ministry of Christ through us!
