When is comes down to it, trying new things are only new at first.
Once you do it constantly, everything changes.
It’s the same way in our relationship with Jesus.
The more we seek Him, the easier it is.
Let’s look at what God’s Word says about it.
GOD’S WORD
PRAY
TRUTH: Time with God results in closeness to God
TRUTH: Time with God results in closeness to God
Two kings of people in Psalm 1:
Blessed man does not live in wickedness
Wicked man does not delight in God and His Word.
Some of us are trying to be blessed in the midst of wickedness.
Can’t do it.
It’s one or the other.
Some of want to so badly to seek after God, but have no idea how to.
Truth for seeking God:
He is anticipated in the first word of this psalm because “blessing” in Scripture references the redemptive presence of God.
taking pleasure instead in every revelation of the mind and will of God, feeding his mental life on the divine Word.
Q - You want to be blessed?
You want to live out God’s will for your life?
A - Delight yourself in God by meditating on His Word.
Christians must have “God time” in their lives.
Without “God time” we cannot grow and feel close to God.
The Gospel truth of being close to God depends on Christ’s work on the cross and resurrection.
Matter of fact, 1 Peter tells us that Jesus brings us to God.
There is nothing or no one that can ever bring us to God except Jesus.
But there is nothing that can make us feel close to God except time with God.
A lot of us want to.
Most of us do not know how.
