Knowing what you COULD NOT know
I used to be indecisive.
Now I’m not so sure.
I used to be indecisive.
Now I’m not so sure.
Do not argue with an idiot.
He will drag you down to his level and beat you with experience.
That awkward moment when you leave a store without buying anything and all you can think is “act natural, you’re innocent.”
I can totally keep secrets.
It’s the people I tell them to that can’t.
There are 2 rules for success
Never reveal everything you know
Thanks for being with us today, and if your watching us online, thanks for listening in!
Today we want to continue our Living the supernatural lifestyle series.
We’re going to deal with the topic of Words of knowledge.
Have you ever known something about someone you didn't learn through natural means?
God can tell us things that help Him further His Kingdom on earth.
In this message we are going to learn about words of knowledge.
How we get them and How we use them.
Words of Knowledge
Def: Knowing something you did not learn through natural means
Words of Wisdom
Knowing how to put that knowledge into action
The Bible briefly references revelatory activity in .
Here,
1 cor 12:8
Paul declares, “The Spirit gives the gift of the word of revelation knowledge and wisdom.”
Scripture doesn’t provide alot of details about operating in spiritual gifts.
I believe it because the Holy Spirit wants it be be something we explore, rather just than read on the pages of a book
Nevertheless, there are hints–if you look carefully.
The prophets of old saw “pictures” or heard “sounds.”
They picked up on the things of God in the realm of the imagination.
Does God still speak through the senses?
I believe that He does.
I have personally operated in words of knowledge from my early teen years
Knowing things I didn’t learn.
I was not someone who read books, We had 3 channels on TV 4 if you counted the french channel, nothing to learn there
School was standard
the internet had yet evolved for common use.
Yes there was a time the internet did not exist
Yes there was a time the internet did not exist
yet I would know things I never was taught
eg...
We have a New Testament example
In the area of words of wisdom
I also knew how to do things I was never taught how to do… like fix a dishwasher
how to do things simply by seeing how it should be done.
I don’t attribute that to personal capabilities
But I acknowledge it was the Holy Spirit working His gifts through me!
Maybe you’ve hear the expression
Knowledge is power!
But knowledge is power only when you know what to do with it.
Hosea
That’s why words of knowledge and wisdom go hand in hand with one another.
When I’m talking about operating in the gift of knowledge
I am not talking about looking up information about someone on the internet!
I’m not talking about gaining knowledge through gossip.
Let me get on a soapbox with this one.
many Christians get caught in this trap of gossip:
Gossip divides relationships, destroys trust, and the pain associated with gossip is felt long after the words are spoken.
simple definition
sharing information about someone you do not have permission to share
If the information involves multiple people, you need multiple permission
If the information involves multiple people, you need
Remember someone who gossips to you will gossip about you,
enough about that ...
let’s get back to what Words of knowledge.
Again its knowing something you did not learn through natural means.
