Now, Oscar Muriu uses humor, but the stark reality is far less funny. The stark reality is that the Body of Christ today is sadly disjointed.

The problem today is that church corporate and the church local act as silos planting their flags in the ground without considering the current missions or conditions of other churches. By doing so, the church has neglected perhaps the most effective form of outreach out there. Rather than connectedness, wholeness, and unity, the church has suffered from disembodiment.

Oscar Muriu is a pastor and theologian from Nyrobi, Kenya. In 2006, Oscar spoke at a conference in Chicago called Urbana, and he rephrased a Bible passage from , a passage that talks about how the parts of the Body need one another to function:

Functional parts! People who do stuff. Organs don’t just exist, they are members with functions.
This is more than just people, but about how those people are operating within the body.

Presentable= Don’t require modesty, but the presentable parts require humility still.
Paul’s point:
Those who are weaker, feeling less valued, hidden away, those are the ones we need to be taken special care to pay attention to!
The church is a backwards business.
We succeed when you help your weaknesses.
We praise those who don’t receive honorable jobs:
