We are masters at complicating Things
It doesd not matter how simple a thing may be, we will make it more complicated.

And its not just tech.
Look at how nwe complicate the simplicty of a married life.
Marriage is simple, it really is - but when we have secret whatsapp accounts, late nights at the office, to many friends, flirting… it gets complicated.
Look at how we complicate our own lives.
The bible is true when t says:
Now one of the worst things that we have complicated is our Christian faith.
And i dont mean in regards to doctrine - doctrine is not for us to touch, meddle or try and either simplyfy or complicate.
Doctrine is made clear in God’s word and should not be touched.
I am refereing to our we complicate the daily living out of our faith.
And i know that many people do this based on 2 things:
1: Confusion.
2: Disobedience.
Confusion
Confusion does not come from God. Confusion comes from man complicating things, as usual.
Confusion comes from having too many masters.
This one says that, that one says this.
people who are confused are only confused because they choose to listen to confused people.
Confusion about: the trinity, the priesthood of believers, to whom do we pray.
Confusion about homosexuality, fornication.
Disobedience
I will never understand how people can think that they can be disobedient and still call themselves christians.
there is no ambiguity there.
So today i want to simply things for you.
let us look back at the earliest picture we have of what christians look like, before they have had a change to complicate things.
Lets examine the simplicity of the lives of the early church christians.
Now remember, these people faced death, persecution, exile...
1: They were devoted to the Word of God.
But it was just the word - it was any and all preaching and teaching of the word as well.
Jesus told us that man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the Father.
God has blessed the church with the 5 fold ministry to equip every christian with the things they need to live a victorious life.
2: They were devoted to fellowship
Fellowship means “sharing”.
It can refer to sharing a meal, sharing a cup of coffee and even to sharing our burdens.
It is no surprise that the stroingest, most fruitful, most devoted, most blessed mebers of ufgc are the ones who have made the most connections with each other.
We absolutly neded one another to advance the kingdom of God.
It i very difficult to fellowship, when you arrive at 8:57 and leave at 10:02.
Tell us what we can do - what do you want?
Diner evening...

Communion is a powerful ordinance for the christian.
It serves to remind us of Christs sacrifice.
It serves to cause us to examine ourselves.
It serves to make us serve others.
It serves to prompt us to forgive when we have been wronged.
4: They were devoted to Prayer
prayer has 2 ends: one end is the person who prays and the other is the thing or person prayed for.
often the first end (the person praying) needs to undergo transformation before the other end can its be changed by the prayer.
We must pray “oh Lord where do i need to be changed?
Is there yet sin that has not been dealt with?
Is there selfish desire that needs to be purified?
5: They were generous
They early church was not reckless with their money but they were generous with it.
They say generosity starts at home, and within the church it started with obedience to bringing in your tithes and offerings.
6: They practiced gratitude and contentment
Coveting is the opposite of contentment.
It is not being thankful for the lord has provided.
And if coveting gets in you, you will lead a miserable life and a complicated life.
