Edwards
Trinity is very basic thought and foundational of any Christian thought
- incarnation and God-to-flesh is unique
Global religions do not have this. The God never dwells in flesh
God is independent of the world. He doesn’t need you or me. He wasn’t lonely. The holy Spirit, the love, existed before us and all creation
God’s love for his Son is what the starting line of “what is love?”
Analogy: the Sun
The Father: the burning star, the Son: the Light emitted, The Holy Spirit: the warmth felt
Why did God create the world?
Because he is Good. An overflow of God’s Goodness is our existence.
God creates in order to share himself with everyone, including Himself(?)
God desires for His own goodness to be known
There is nothing Greater that God could delight in other than himself and creation is a venue to do so
The nature of God shapes Heaven
Heaven is a family of holy beings, angles, apostles, Christians
Looking at each others glory and joy all centered around God
Love for God will be fully expressed, perfectly expressed
No more slavery and temptation and sin to lock up our passion for God
Father, Son, Holy Spirit
God eternal lover
Son eternal beloved
Holy Spirit Love embodied

Thesis: We glorify the Father, by the sacrifice of Jesus, in the power of the Spirit

Intro

Trinity is basis of Christian thought
Global religions don’t accept this
God/Flesh discussion unique
God indwelling is unique
Tri-unity is the basis for everything
Heaven, hell, us, anything created, anything existent.
It only makes sense because of God’s triunity
The Father sent His Son to die for you, a truth made known and applied by the Spirit
Christian implications for trinitarian God
Baptize in the singular name of trinity
worship, obedience, following God— we need to be sure we are following the ACTUAL God of the universe. Are we sanding off the edges of God?
So, how do we fit into that?

Our Life:

2: God knew, the Spirit worked, Jesus provided blood
We are chosen by the Father.
We are obedient in the Spirit
We are validated by Jesus
3: the Father is honored by the Son’s work
5: God’s power God’s peace
Jesus promises to give us the Spirit to do these things
11: Spirit of Christ

Glorify the Father

Worship, honor, praise, value, fear, respect, desire, strive for, pursue, chase after, sacrifice for, live for, find purpose in--- the Father

By the Sacrifice of Jesus

He paid the price, atoned, was the substitute, paid the debt, bore the punishment, became the sin that we conceived, beaten, crucified, executed, given over, was perfect and innocent--- bought us from death.

In the Power of the Spirit

The Love of God comes to us, indwells in us as a down payment, gives strength, sets us free, gives life and peace, kills sin, adopts us, speaks to the Father by the Son for us and with us, groans for when everything is new, helps us in our weakness, stays with us.
31 What then are we to say about these things? If God is for us, who is against us? 32 He did not even spare his own Son but offered him up for us all. How will he not also with him grant us everything? 33 Who can bring an accusation against God’s elect? God is the one who justifies. 34 Who is the one who condemns? Christ Jesus is the one who died, but even more, has been raised; he also is at the right hand of God and intercedes for us. 35 Who can separate us from the love of Christ? Can affliction or distress or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? 36 As it is written:

Because of you

we are being put to death all day long;

we are counted as sheep to be slaughtered.,bh

37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38 For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, 39 nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

The Trinity and Us

Christian Standard Bible. (2017). (). Nashville, TN: Holman Bible Publishers.
Our creation, salvation, Christian life, heavenly eternity is all through a beautiful triune perspective.
Even prayer: we should pray to God the Father, by the power of God the Spirit, through the work and in the name of God the Son
So, you can know them all as individuals and together as an individual
Apologize to one. Seek for one. This is good.
You will always find Him together as One.
Worship, obedience, following God— we need to be sure we are following the ACTUAL God of the universe. Are we sanding off the edges of God?
