Taking care of others in Your time of need
In the mist of the storm Jesus saw the pain of those around him and made preparation for his mother and bother the disciple took Mary into his home (showed compassion and love) not just a drive by helping hand.
Out of love not just because he should.
When Jesus therefore saw his mother, and the disciple standing by, whom he loved, he saith unto his mother, Woman, behold thy son! [27] Then saith he to the disciple, Behold thy mother!
And from that hour that disciple took her unto his own home.

There are two touching scenes here.

The women at the cross.
They were there at great risk.
Jesus was...

Any supporter of Jesus who stood at the cross ran the risk of ridicule and arrest.
Nevertheless, the women stood there.
Why?
They loved Him.
There is no other explanation: they simply loved Him.
He had done so much for them that they were willing to stand by Him no matter the cost.
“For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead: and that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again” ().

2. Jesus’ care of His mother.
His thoughts were on others, not on Himself.
Every fiber of His being existed for others, not for Himself.
Even in death, His mind and being were set on taking care of others.
Þ He was touched with the feelings of Mary’s hurt and pain.
In the last moments of His life upon earth, He made arrangements for her care.
Þ He is touched with the feeling of our hurt and pain, so he takes care of us.
“For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.
Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need” ().
