Introduction

Story: It’s not normal to see people walking in a graveyard
This morning you may be very familiar with the fact that we preach a resurrected Jesus.
Two questions:
Do you believe it?
Do you know what it means for you?
Bible Reading and prayer

1. The Innocent Treated Like the Guilty

Quick background
Romans is the doctrinal masterpiece of Paul under this inspiration of the Holy Spirit
Paul is explaining salvation by faith
Here we get a summary of the importance of the death and resurrection of Christ
What does it mean that Christ was “delivered up”
Greek word: παραδίδωμι
παραδίδωμι
By who? The Father
Why: One could die for all, and God loved everyone
John 3:16 CSB
For God loved the world in this way: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.
What did being delivered up mean for Jesus
Betrayed
Arrested
Tortured
Tried
Falsely Convicted
Sentenced to death
Crucified
There was no other way
(CSB)
Luke 22:42 CSB
“Father, if you are willing, take this cup away from me—nevertheless, not my will, but yours, be done.”
42 “Father, if you are willing, take this cup away from me—nevertheless, not my will, but yours, be done.”
Our sin was that bad
The great flood
Sodom and Gomorrah
The sacrificial animals

2. The Guilty Treated Like the Innocent

What does raised mean?
Raised from the dead
Jesus bodily rose from the dead. He did not appear as simply a spirit or an illusion as the skeptics claim. He’s alive
What does the resurrection mean?
Death can be overturned
1 Corinthians 15:54–55 CSB
When this corruptible body is clothed with incorruptibility, and this mortal body is clothed with immortality, then the saying that is written will take place: Death has been swallowed up in victory. Where, death, is your victory? Where, death, is your sting?
My guilt can be erased (justification)
My sins can be forgiven
Im going to live somewhere after I die (receive the gospel)

3. The Hopeless Filled With Hope

By faith (not works) we are declared righteous
Now we have peace with God
No guilt
No anxiety
No bitterness
No anger

Conclusion

Imagine with me for a moment:
Imagine standing before that empty tomb. Imagine the sequence of thoughts.
Why is the stone rolled away
Where are the roman guards
Would someone have stolen the body
Didn’t he say :
John 2:19 CSB
Jesus answered, “Destroy this temple, and I will raise it up in three days.”
Matthew 12:40 CSB
For as Jonah was in the belly of the huge fish three days and three nights, so the Son of Man will be in the heart of the earth three days and three nights.
“Destroy this temple,,a and I will raise it up in three days.”

40 For as Jonah was in the belly of the huge fish,ac three days and three nights, so the Son of Man will be in the heart of the earth three days and three nights.

(CSB)
31 For he was teaching his disciples and telling them, “The Son of Man is going to be betrayed into the hands of men. They will kill him, and after he is killed, he will rise three days later.”
Will you embrace peace today?
Mark 9:31 CSB
For he was teaching his disciples and telling them, “The Son of Man is going to be betrayed into the hands of men. They will kill him, and after he is killed, he will rise three days later.”
As these thought rushed into their mind an angel came and said:
Luke 24:5–8 CSB
So the women were terrified and bowed down to the ground. “Why are you looking for the living among the dead?” asked the men. “He is not here, but he has risen! Remember how he spoke to you when he was still in Galilee, saying, ‘It is necessary that the Son of Man be betrayed into the hands of sinful men, be crucified, and rise on the third day’And they remembered his words.
The resurrection gave them proof. The resurrection gave them hope!
Will you embrace peace today?
