Did you scripture we've been going through the Gospel of John and we found that John actually is trying to teach us three things and we know that first of all, he was trying to confirm Jesus Christ as being the Son of God and it's very very important that you recognize Jesus Christ is the Son of God just a Son of God are are one of my many be actual Son of God. He had to die to the Flesh and he had to be flesh. He had to be Spirit. He had to be fully God had to be fully man in order to die to pay for our sins. But not only if we've been looking at the confirmation of Jesus Christ John also wrote that your faith may be bolstered and other words. If you can trust Jesus Christ if he is the Son of God and he loved us if God loves us enough to come and die for us. Then how much more can we trust them with our everyday life and everyday situations? And so hopefully your faith has been getting stronger and then we come to the last in the turning point and we're actually going to see this pivot happened today because the third reason that John wrote was that you might experience life more abundantly. God want you to love life. God wants you to live life to its fullest. The problem is is we have to Define that life is so if you have your Bibles and John chapter 12, I want to talk to you this morning about living The Impossible life. And if you have your Bible if you will stand in honor of reading God's word, we're going to begin and verse 23 and we're going to Simply read Down 2 verse 26 and it says in Jesus answered them saying The Hours come that the son of man should be glorified verily verily I say unto you accept it. We'd fall into the ground and die it about if alone but if it died bring us forth much fruit, he that loveth his life shall lose it and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto eternal life. If any man serve me let him follow me and where I am there shall also my servant be if any man serve me him will my father honor you think you you may be seated as we look at this passage of scripture this morning. I want you to understand what we have been looking at if you go back to chapter 11 the great story in the in the word of God in the gospels, especially the Gospel of John is the raising of Lazarus from the dead and all of the Miracles that Jesus Christ did none of them could compare to bring in a Deadman and back alive and well after us was getting all kinds of attention and we saw that right before this time and in the week we saw last, Week dates of Paso or they Palm Sunday where we celebrated the Jews recognizing him as being king of kings and right before that. He came and Mary and Martha had prepared a wonderful Feast to honor Jesus Christ for raising the brother Lazarus from the and we saw that in that process that Martha was serving was for Mary that she was worshiping and then we looked at Lazarus just sitting over at the table with Jesus a wonderful beautiful picture of a life that was once dead and is now a lot, you know, you there's not a lot you can say once you've been dead, right? And now you are alive. What are you going to explain? What are you going to say to the crowds that are around and we find Lazarus just they're being once dead and now alive and then we saw that the Gentiles came to him after they Jews held him king of kings and Lord of lords and Lady Palm. Pictures down as he rode in on that young donkey that cold that have never been ridden before showing that he comes in not as Keen not to rule in the rain but the sufferer and so now the time that Jesus has been putting off the top of of waiting and anticipation of his whole entire Ministry had now come down to this last week and we see here in John chapter 12 and verse 23 that's in verse 22 Philip and Andrew come to Jesus Christ and they say there's many Greeks better here for the festival that that want to meet you that want to see you that's here in Jesus Christ. As far as we can tell does not grant their request. We know that the time of Gentiles was later. But what Jesus Christ does he answered Philip and Andrew and noticed the parlay that we find here in verse 23 Jesus answered them saying the hour is come that the son of man should be glorified as we look at this passage of scripture. There's probably two possible reasons for the yes. One is the reason that Christ on Earth in his flesh was King of the Jews. He was not keen of the Gentiles Rome live the Gentiles Rome ruled the Gentile world of that day. And so Christ had the first die. He had to give his life first before he could come to the Gentiles. Another reason that he didn't offer this to the Gentiles at this time was based. I believe on the scene of Lazarus. What they need is Christ when they can see the Lazarus who was once dead and is now alive they can go and see the proof about Jesus Christ there. And so and I want you to understand this morning that Lazarus the Lord Dale said that they are you don't need to see me go see Lazarus go see the one that was dead, but now is alive and he is now living the same kind of life that you and I could be living today. What kind of life is that? Is the living room light and life in light of the resurrection of Jesus Christ. My life is now Christ life who did Lazarus o his life to Jesus Christ. Otherwise, he would have stayed in the grave. Otherwise, he would still be dead and told Lazarus no longer had a life. That's why he is sitting there at the table with Jesus Christ waiting for Jesus to tell him what to do and what not to do you realize that that Jesus has been saying this to people for 2,000 years and the sad thing is is so many times we have missed this and it's Christians weed. Say this but the life of Lazarus was actually the life that was living and impossible Life by every means Lazarus was dead and should have remained dead. But Jesus Christ made it possible for him to be imparted life. As a matter of fact the Apostle Paul right into the church at galatia put it this way. And I love this verse this time of the year. It's really all times of the year. But enjoy after 2 and verse 20 Paul said, I am crucified with Christ nevertheless. I live yet not I but Christ liveth in me and the life which I now live in the flesh. I live by the faith of the Son of God who loved me and gave himself for me and as we think about that, that's what Lazarus was God gave him life. He was now alive and so it wasn't his life, but it was Jesus's life and as we look at this this I want you to see that God wants three things out of your life. And if you've accepted him as your personal savior the sacrifice that the quiet so wonderfully subtle about this morning. He did it because he loves you. He did it to conquer seeing he did it to conquer Satan and he did it in order that he might conquer death and give you life and life more abundantly. And so if you're really living life if you're really taking advantage of the the gospel life in the life more abundantly that John wants you to have the first thing that will happen is God will be glorified. God will be glorified. Look at what it says there and verse 23 Jesus answered them saying the hour is come that the son of man should be glorified. How do we glorify God in our death? Jesus Christ is talking here about going and dying on the cross for our sins. How in the world does that boy? Glory to the father if we look at that, that's kind of sick. Isn't it? Should we glory and excited in the death of an individual? But yet he said God is fixing to Glory. It might as soon as a Christian, the only way to glorify God is for you to die. See you have to accept the sacrifice of Jesus Christ as your personal Savior and you have to die to self as Paul said angulation and you have to live under God. It's no longer my life, but it's now Christ life that lives through me. He is the one that is giving me life. Not only is does the Lord glorify the father but the Lord had to be crucified notice what it says there in verse 24. He he says verily verily I say unto you except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die it abideth alone that corn of wheat signifies the the grave of E. Are all gardeners in for me and Dad got our garden put in this weekend? And the sad thing is is each and every one of them individual seeds had to be placed into the dirt. They had to be covered up and they'll have to die and when they die, what's going to happen? Hopefully they will begin to get fertilizer. Hopefully they begin to get water and sunshine and what's going to happen. They are going to Break Forth of the dirt here in the next week or so, and we're going to be able to see if they sprout or not and if we continue to care for them and take care of them and cultivate what's going to happen that one grain that one seed is going to produce multiple fruit and not only multiple fruit but have out of each one of them fruit if we want to if we don't officially eat it all. Will be able to save some seed to be able to plant next year when it was time to harvest. You. See that's what Jesus Christ is telling us in our life. If God is going to be glorified if we are going to live life The Impossible life. You have to crucify yourself as a matter of fact in Luke chapter 9 verse 23, Jesus Christ said if you want to if you want to follow me if you want to say that you're my disciple. He said first of all you have to deny yourself, right? God is glorified in what the death of Jesus Christ Jesus did not think it robbery to be considered equal with God but did want obtain flesh upon him and took the phone has the reputation of a man and died for you and I that's denying self. But he says second of all there and Luke chapter 9 verse 23, not only are we to deny ourselves, but we are to take up his cross daily and follow him. Other words we have to crucify ourselves. We have to say, you know, what there is absolutely nothing good within Donnie Haines. Nothing. My heart is evil and desperately wicked. The only good thing in Donnie Haines is Jesus Christ and him crucified and when I submit to Jesus Christ in the spirit, then what happens is is Jesus Christ comes and field me and every good thing that I do is not because of Donnie Haines because of Jesus Christ living through me because Christ is the only one that is good and so notice that he was crucified for God and then thirdly we noticed in first 24 the latter part it says, but if I die It bring it forth much fruit crucifixion is a part of you all alone. Nobody else can do that. Nobody else can be saved for you. You have got to realize that there is no way that you can appease a holy God. There is no way that you can get to Heaven by your work or by your mareth. The only way that you can do that is to accept the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross of Calvary, but then he says if we crucify ourselves through his death if we identify with and allow him to live through us then guess what where you were by yourself you will begin to be multiplied. I stand here this morning and I praise God because I have Jordan and Mandy here this morning and and one of these days we'll have grandkids at in life will move on and go on, but I can stand here as a father today at with Siteman and Joyce and say that by children everybody in my family has accepted Jesus Christ as their personal Savior and we have been multiplied not only here on Earth but in heaven also and no matter what happens on this Earth, I will see all of them again because of what Jesus Christ has done and so but we have to die before we can reproduce fruit. You can't show someone how to be safe. You can't show someone how to live for Jesus Christ unless you have died in her living for Jesus Christ. And so then he gives us a paradox and I want you to notice and verse 25 what he says in this Paradox. He that loveth his life shall lose it and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal notice the pair. He gives us an illustration of what he was talking about and notice what he says, Cuz if you love your life, you got to lose it and use that hate your life in this world. Shall keep your life eternal is very simply sums up this whole message this morning death is the way to life had Jesus Christ not died on the cross of Calvary there would be no reason for us to be here today celebrating the resurrection there would be no sacrifice for sins. There would be no defeat of Satan there would be no just structure of death. We would not need to be here today but notice if we lose this life if he is Christian if we will die to ourselves you will begin to find life. The reason that so many people and even Christians are miserable today and we're unhappy is why we're trying to hang on to this world were trying to hang on to this. Rather than realizing that we're just pilgrims passing through. My life is not here on this Earth. My life is with in God and in his kingdom and it have it until we lay up Treasures for their but the only way that we can have life. There is by dying to this world 26 as we wrap it up this morning. You didn't think I could get through three verses that quick. Did you notice verse 26 If any man serve me Let him follow me and where I am there shall also my servant be if any man serve me him with my father on notice the principal here notice of all that he speaks a word about the Lord's followers. He says if any man serve me let him follow me if you have died to yourself and you are living Jesus Christ has resurrected you and Jesus Christ has made you alive and that's why we're here today. That's what Easter is all about. So don't miss Easter and I'm looking for Easter eggs and bunnies intended. All of this understand that Easter is all about Jesus Christ being brought forth from the grave. He conquered see and Satan and Daya and because he conquered seeing Satan and death you and I can conquer seeing Satan in death we can live. With him, but guess what if we have accepted him as your personal savior, then we need to follow Jesus Christ. Why is it we can trust Jesus Christ with our eternity and if somehow we can't trust them with our day in and day out stuff our day in and day out life. How many times do we need to go to God in prayer and got just as you know, what if you will ask I will give you what you have not because you aren't you ask not why because I can handle it. I'm okay. I've got it made God but yet will trust him with our eternity, but we won't trust him with our everyday stuff. But notice in this principle not only the following of Jesus Christ, but notice the father of Jesus Christ. He says, they're the last phrase and verse 26 If any man serve me him will my father honor. What is he talkin about here millions and millions of people have been saved. But if Nev First serve Jesus Christ, but they are not doing anything the honor will be those who have died. The martyr's death. Let's go back for just a minute to the supper or Lazarus was seated at the table notice. There was two other ladies Martha that was serving in Mary that was worshipping but Lazarus set there even though he was made alive notice. He was not serving or worshipping Jesus Christ notice and that's where a lot of us Christians are we've accepted Jesus Christ is our savior. We've given them our life, but then we are going through life and we're living defeated. We're living defeated lives and everything and we are expecting God to honor Us in God to glorify lips. The only way that God will honor and glorify us is as we serve Jesus Christ and John chapter 12, and we'll look next week at verse 32, but Jesus said if I will be lifted up, I will draw all men unto me. You see God because Jesus Christ lifted up God the Father God the Father lifted up Jesus Christ the son and you and I have salvation today because the father accepted that sacrifice and brought him forth from the grave Psalms 126 in verse 6 of wonderful verse about the Harvest. Is he that goeth forth and weepeth bearing precious seed Doubtless come again with rejoicing bringing his sheaves with him. Let me let you understand something this morning. There is this life and there's the next life. But listen, you can only be honored in one of the lives. You can't be honored in both. If you are seeking honor and you're seeking life in this world, then guess what Jesus Christ in his Sermon on the Mount you have your reward but seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and all these other things that we seek here on this Earth are our home or shelter are closing our food all of these things that we want to show our status and our intelligence and make us look great in comparison to everybody else. He says when you are willing to die to everything on this Earth, Then he will honor you and you'll be able to live on the next are you see the reason that so many people are not experience in life and life more abundantly that have given their heart to Jesus Christ is because they're not given this life to Jesus Christ. They're not following him and serving him and guess what the God. The father says, I cannot glorify and honors. I cannot Glory and Honor Rebellion. The only way that we could enter right standing with God. The father is the same thing that with did if you've never done the extended day, you need to repent of your singing and accept the sacrifice of Jesus Christ as your personal Savior, and if you've done that and you still are away from God, you're still dishonoring God. You're still not pleasing God. You're still not glorifying. Then you need to do the same thing and repent of your sins and turn back to God and say from Dave right now. I'm going to follow you today. Hey, I'm going to obey you today. I am going to lift up and serve your son in order that you in the next life. You will lift me up as we stand for a verse of invitation this morning. Did you know Jesus Christ as your personal savior? Have you trusted him today? If not, are you serving him? Are you living him? What's keeping you which world and for you living for this world. Are you just a pilgrim and ambassador of the next World Jesus Christ foot it simply this way. You shall know them by their Fruit take a deep look. Are you serving? Jesus Christ? Are you living for Jesus Christ? If you're not then you're not glorifying and honoring God and therefore God is not going to honor and glorify you for his kingdom live for his world and then you can fully understand and appreciate the wonderful fearful of Easter Christ come that you don't have to be dick you a lot as we sing what him
