Introduction

Today we are starting we are continuing to look at the Eucharist. The Lords Supper. It is a time of Remembrance that we talked about last week. It is a time of worship. Often it becomes a time of apathy, of motions, of ease. So we must Guard ourselves. Thus we are looking at How We prepare ourselves for the Lord’s Supper.
1 Corinthians 11:27–28 LEB
So then, whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of the body and the blood of the Lord. But let a person examine himself, and in this way let him eat from the bread and let him drink from the cup.

Broken

Problem is that we are broken. When sin enters the pictures it breaks us. It even breaks the world we are living in. Things are broken and before you found christ many of you tried to fill that or fix that brokenness in many different ways.
And then you found Christ. Maybe you haven’t yet and you are trying to fix things and it just isn’t working for you. You are looking for a way that works. nothing man made will work even religion. People don’t change without someone changing them.
ABC
In our brokenness we must accept Jesus and Go to him in the HS.
This verse warns us that we can’t take the Lord’s supper in an unworthy manner. which is why I often say if you are not a Christian don’t partake. If you have Bitterness and anger in your heart don’t partake.

Examine Yourself

In order to get ready for Lord’s supper we must first examine yourself.
The Problem of self-examination is simple. According to the apostle, there are but two conditions, either Jesus Christ is in you, or you are reprobate [rejected]; one of two. there is no third condition. The life of Christ in you may still be weak; but if you are truly born again and a child of God, Christ is in you. And then as a child you have access to the table of the Father and a share in the children's bread. But if Christ is not in you, you are rejected. - Andrew Murray
If you have Christ you have access but have you washed you hands. We tell our children go wash you hands. We don’t want them eating dirt and other with the food.
1 Corinthians 11:31–32 LEB
But if we were evaluating ourselves, we would not be judged. But if we are judged by the Lord, we are being disciplined, in order that we will not be condemned with the world.
If you judge yourself, you will not come under God’s judgment.
would you rather judge yourselves, repent of sin and be right with God or hold on to sin and ignore or casually treat the fact that Christ’s body was broken for me. and Be disciplined by God?
Take a moment and ask for forgiveness from sin. Your sin not just sin. take time to repent.
Silent prayer.
