It is

John 19:19–30 NKJV
Now Pilate wrote a title and put it on the cross. And the writing was: JESUS OF NAZARETH, THE KING OF THE JEWS Then many of the Jews read this title, for the place where Jesus was crucified was near the city; and it was written in Hebrew, Greek, and Latin. Therefore the chief priests of the Jews said to Pilate, “Do not write, ‘The King of the Jews,’ but, ‘He said, “I am the King of the Jews.” ’ ” Pilate answered, “What I have written, I have written.” Then the soldiers, when they had crucified Jesus, took His garments and made four parts, to each soldier a part, and also the tunic. Now the tunic was without seam, woven from the top in one piece. They said therefore among themselves, “Let us not tear it, but cast lots for it, whose it shall be,” that the Scripture might be fulfilled which says: “They divided My garments among them, And for My clothing they cast lots.” Therefore the soldiers did these things. Now there stood by the cross of Jesus His mother, and His mother’s sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene. When Jesus therefore saw His mother, and the disciple whom He loved standing by, He said to His mother, “Woman, behold your son!” Then He said to the disciple, “Behold your mother!” And from that hour that disciple took her to his own home. After this, Jesus, knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the Scripture might be fulfilled, said, “I thirst!” Now a vessel full of sour wine was sitting there; and they filled a sponge with sour wine, put it on hyssop, and put it to His mouth. So when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished!” And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit.
The moment had finally come~
The reality of the situation as well at hand
This “King of the Jews had finally been dealt with - this blasphemier
Until the last moments they had rejected this proclaiming Savior!
Beaten, bleeding, and filled with pain and agony, Jesus lifts His face toward heaven and procalims

As the time passed the moment had come....a moment that was prophesied in which the sin of man would be finally dealt with....
John 19:30 NKJV
So when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished!” And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit.
Most likely the most important words ever spoken throughout history
The greek here indicates here the completion of a plan - execution - specifically for the polis - the people
To fulfil a promise - not like politicians today who make empty claims but rather one who completes his wrod
To fulfil a promice? What was the promise of God?
Ezekiel 18:31–32 NKJV
Cast away from you all the transgressions which you have committed, and get yourselves a new heart and a new spirit. For why should you die, O house of Israel? For I have no pleasure in the death of one who dies,” says the Lord God. “Therefore turn and live!”
2 Peter 3:9 NKJV
The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.
Problem is:
Hebrews 9:22 NKJV
And according to the law almost all things are purified with blood, and without shedding of blood there is no remission.
When we sin we earn death
Romans 6:23 NKJV
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
So there needed to be an atonement for sin
At one ment -
The shedding of Christ’s blood made it possible for us to at one with God again!
The wage of sin is:
Separation from God
Isaiah 59:2 NKJV
But your iniquities have separated you from your God; And your sins have hidden His face from you, So that He will not hear.
It brought guilt into our lives
Psalm 38:4 NKJV
For my iniquities have gone over my head; Like a heavy burden they are too heavy for me.
Allows Satan to accuse us
Revelation 12:10 NKJV
Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, “Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down.
It demands the death penalty
Ezekiel 18:4 NKJV
“Behold, all souls are Mine; The soul of the father As well as the soul of the son is Mine; The soul who sins shall die.
So the blood of Christ protects us from the Judgement of the law
Exodus 12:13 NKJV
Now the blood shall be a sign for you on the houses where you are. And when I see the blood, I will pass over you; and the plague shall not be on you to destroy you when I strike the land of Egypt.
Purchases us back from slavery
Ephesians 1:7 NKJV
In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace
Restores our fellowship
Romans 5:8–9 NKJV
But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him.
Cleanses us from guilt
Hebrews 9:14 NKJV
how much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without spot to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?
Reconciles us to God
Colossians 1:20–22 NKJV
and by Him to reconcile all things to Himself, by Him, whether things on earth or things in heaven, having made peace through the blood of His cross. And you, who once were alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now He has reconciled in the body of His flesh through death, to present you holy, and blameless, and above reproach in His sight—
Gives us boldness where fear once ruled
Hebrews 10:19–22 NKJV
Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way which He consecrated for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh, and having a High Priest over the house of God, let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.
The war is over!
The Devil’s weapon against man is accusation!
Revelation 12:10 NKJV
Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, “Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down.
It puts God back on man’s side
Romans 8:31 NKJV
What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?
It dissolves Satan’s legal rights to us
Colossians 1:14 NKJV
in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins.
We now receive purity of heart
1 John 1:7 NKJV
But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.
Eternal life
John 3:16 NKJV
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
Close to God
Ephesians 2:13 NKJV
But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ.
IT IS FINISHED....was really IT HAS BEGUN!
Everything God had promised was now complete
Like the prodigal son, man can now receive the rights of sonship once again
Like all of us, what Satan meant for evil against Christ ultimately ended up destroying him!
But that promise my friends is only to those who believe and receive!
