Introduction: I love finding out something new electronically. Especially when it make my life easier. Time is such an important thing to each of us. I enjoy using my phone for a variety of task. Since I use it so much I enjoy finding shortcuts.
It’s knowing what you have

It’s using what you have
The whole redemptive process is somewhat amazing!
I Corinthians 5:17 summarizes this brief passage we are talking about today.
“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”
Our hearts are filled with Gratitude as we realize what we were and what we will be all because of Jesus Christ.
Three things to thank Jesus for …

I. Thank You for our Spiritual Inheritance vs. 12

A. We have been made adequate for Heaven. (meet)
1. because of Christ’s redemptive work we now qualify. We have had a changed nature that makes us acceptable in God’s sight.
2. Everything has changed … our nature has changed. Ephesians speaks about our old nature in a variety of places. A process has occured where we have changed from sinner to saint.
Ephesians 2:1–3 KJV 1900
And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins; Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.

That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:

3. We have been given spiritual space suits.

B. We have been made associates of a New Inheritance:
1. Just like the Israelites recieved a portion in the promised land so we have recieved our portion of the divine inheritance of from God. Peter said it like this

To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you,
2. What is the believers benefits or inheritance:
a. Eternal Life for then (Heaven) and Now (Earth)
b.
b. The “Earth” and
c. “Promises”
d. “We have … yet not fully”
3. Two different groups
a. Saints of Light - Those separated from the world and unto God? How do I know I’m a saint? One of the most practical way is OBEDIENCE to God’s Word.
What does the light represent Biblically in the World we live in.
i. Light represent the desire for truth in the way we think …
“The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple.”
ii. Light represent the desire for purity in the way we live …
Ephesians 5:8-14
8 For ye were sometimes darkness, but now [are ye] light in the Lord: walk as children of light:
9 (For the fruit of the Spirit [is] in all goodness and righteousness and truth;)
10 Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord.
11 And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove [them].
12 For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret.
13 But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is light.
14 Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light.
b. Aints of Darkness- This should grieve our hearts … sadden us. This is the majority.

Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.

For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.

Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

II. Thank You for Your Spiritual Kingdom. vs 13

A. We have been delivered from the dominion and domain of Darkness
1.This is the rule and realm of Satan, the World and everything else outside of God.
One of the plagues of Egypt a picture of bondage and slavery was darkness. Egypt was in darkness while all the children of Israel had light in their dwelling.
Exodus 10:21–23 KJV 1900
And the Lord said unto Moses, Stretch out thine hand toward heaven, that there may be darkness over the land of Egypt, even darkness which may be felt. And Moses stretched forth his hand toward heaven; and there was a thick darkness in all the land of Egypt three days: They saw not one another, neither rose any from his place for three days: but all the children of Israel had light in their dwellings.
The pillar of cloud was darkness to the Egyptians, but provided light to God’s people.

Exodus 14:20 KJV 1900
And it came between the camp of the Egyptians and the camp of Israel; and it was a cloud and darkness to them, but it gave light by night to these: so that the one came not near the other all the night.
2. This is the “New Birth” God drew us out of the Kingdom of darkness.
B. We have been delivered into the Rule and Realm of His Son
1. He place us into exclusive company within His family!
a. translated mean to be moved from one place to another.
b. the verb speaks of a total change like a people being moved from one kingdom to another.
2. He put us into a position of equality with His own Son.
a. We are to practice is accordance with our position. Represent
1 Thessalonians 2:12 KJV 1900
That ye would walk worthy of God, who hath called you unto his kingdom and glory.
2 Thessalonians 1:5 KJV 1900
Which is a manifest token of the righteous judgment of God, that ye may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which ye also suffer:
we think of suffering is such a one dimensional way … physically, but what about suffering with our desires. We all have desires … it is not what goes in that condemns as man but what comes out. Wasn’t that Jesus words. The heart desires. I Think of Jesus the son of God. God is very existence having to clothe himself in humanity. fully God and yet fully man. God does understand our feeling, emotions, desires. God is soverignly in control.

III. Thank You for Your Spiritual Redemption vs 14

A. We have redemption through His Blood:
The Greek word is “apolutrosis” which means release through a ransom payment.
close word would be emancipation
a freedom for slavery of sin. Paid in Full.
Ephesians 1:7 KJV 1900
In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;
Colossians 1:20 KJV 1900
And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.
2. The pagan ransoming of slaves is inherent in the Greek word to set free by His purchase price … “His Blood”

Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:
People short of Blood are called anemic … They are also called lost.
B. We have Forgiveness through His Blood:
Israel was forgiven but not Redeemed /
A man can be forgiven and go to Hell
O.T. saints were forgiven but not redeemed till 400 years later.

And the Lord said unto Moses, Hew thee two tables of stone like unto the first: and I will write upon these tables the words that were in the first tables, which thou brakest. And be ready in the morning, and come up in the morning unto mount Sinai, and present thyself there to me in the top of the mount.
