Leading Someone to peace with God.

Intro: Evangelism. Reaching your one. Telling someone about the grace of Jesus that will forgive them of their sins, give them a peace that can only be given through the loving grace of Jesus.
Even as Christian we can have situations that get to us. Things that happen where loss our joy, and live with less peace then we should.
But today I want to look at this miracle, and see it a way of you and I telling someone who is lost without Jesus, the love and grace of Jesus, and lead them to a saving grace and then they will have that peace.
People are hurting, people are on their way to hell. Jesus “I am the way, the truth, the life, no one comes to the father but by me”
They can’t get on their own, can’t get through doing good things, can’t get by just coming to church, only by way of Jesus.
How does a person who is lost without Jesus come to know Jesus? Someone has to tell them.

I. Recognize that there is a problem. VS 25-26

Mark 5:25 KJV 1900
25 And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years,
Mark 5:25 NASB95
25 A woman who had had a hemorrhage for twelve years,
For 12 years this woman (we don’t know her name) had been dealing with this issue of blood (hemorrhage)
The effect on the problem:
a. Jewish law, unclean, could not marry, she could not worship in synagogue, she couldn't have physical contact with anyone. She was a outcast. This has gone on for 12 years.
b. Because of this disease (plague) she had no peace.
VS 29 and 34 KJV the word plague is used. Same GW for a flogging or whipping. It was the word used to describe a Roman Soldier beating someone.
c. When someone had no peace with God (lost soul) It can make them feel beat down. No peace.
d. A soul person has to first recognize that there is problem. That problem is sin.
e. A person can make some changes in their life style. That can be a good thing, but until they recognize their sin problem, there will be no peace.
Mark 5:26 KJV 1900
26 And had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse,
Mark 5:26 NASB95
26 and had endured much at the hands of many physicians, and had spent all that she had and was not helped at all, but rather had grown worse—
SHE WAS DESPERATE
1. She tried physicians, and had suffered (endured) many things.
a. She had gone from Dr to Dr. they had out her through all kinds of treatments, but nothing helped her. You can’t blame the Drs. their are human too, they are not God, Sometimes even the best Drs can’t help.
b. You’ve heard the term “at the end of their rope” she was there.
c. There are a lot of people out there that are at the end of their rope. People who are living a life with no peace.
d. This woman had tried deal with her problem without the help of God. That is a problem today, it always has been a problem.
e. There are human limitations: “But with God all things are possible”
e. There are human limitations: “But with God all things are possible”
Psalm 29:11 KJV 1900
11 The Lord will give strength unto his people; The Lord will bless his people with peace.
Psalm
2. When someone try’s to deal with their problems on their own, things worse.
LAST PART OF VERSE
a. So, how does someone (lost soul) get help from God? How do the help they need if they don’t go to church to hear about God’s grace?
b. Someone has to tell them.

II. Respond with Faith. VS 27-29

Mark 5:27 KJV 1900
27 When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment.
Mark 5:
Mark 5:27 NASB95
27 after hearing about Jesus, she came up in the crowd behind Him and touched His cloak.
How did she hear about Jesus? Someone told her. Someone who Jesus had healed. Someone who cared enough about her to let her know that Jesus cared for and loved her too.
a. People who are hurting, people that are living with no peace, need to hear about Jesus. How? Someone has to tell them.
Romans 10:14 NASB95
14 How then will they call on Him in whom they have not believed? How will they believe in Him whom they have not heard? And how will they hear without a preacher?
Romans 10:14 NASB95
14 How then will they call on Him in whom they have not believed? How will they believe in Him whom they have not heard? And how will they hear without a preacher?
Romans 10:
Preacher: Means to publish, or proclaim.
2. We go to Gatlinburg Tn for our vacation. We stay at a place stay at very affordable place.
a. We didn’t just happen to find this place, someone told us. Not only told us, but took the time to show us.
b. That is what we need to do. Tell people about the love and grace of Jesus. Show them.
c. We tell them, we show them. And we pray that they will respond.
LAST PART OF VS
Press: Crowd. NASB. There were so many people, they were pressed together.
She heard, she believed, she acted out on what she believed in.
a. Just believing was not enough. Ealb on if she would have believed, but not acted on it.
c. This may be someone here today, who believe that Jesus will forgive you, but you have never put what you believe into action.
d. Her faith was great for the fact that she goes to Jesus, but also her actions. She was unclean, an outcast and she was making her way through the crowd.
c. She didn’t care what any thought, she just wanted to get to Jesus.
d. The people we are trying to reach with the gospel of Jesus need to know that it doesn’t matter what people think.
e. There may be someone here today that feels that way. If you want to be sure that you are saved, come forward today.
f. She makes her way through the crowd and touches his garment, the he of His garment.
e. She was unclean, so just touching the hem of His garment, on her knees, was what she did in faith. That was more then just believing.
Mark 5:28 KJV 1900
28 For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole.
Mark 5:28 NASB95
28 For she thought, “If I just touch His garments, I will get well.”
She may have been saying this out load but to herself, over and over.
a. She trusted Jesus, she gained His trust because she heard about him. She had heard what He had done for others, and had faith He would do this same for her.
Song: “It is no secret”
It is no secret what God can do, What he has done for others, He'll do for you. With arms wide open, He'll pardon you It is no secret what God can do.
b. The problem is, too many Christians keep it a secret.
c. Someone told this woman, she believed, she acted.
d. It started with just a little spark of faith.
e. If you are willing to share what Jesus has done for you to someone, it may be that little spark that they need to give them faith in Jesus.
Mark 5:29 KJV 1900
29 And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague.
Mark 5:28 NASB95
28 For she thought, “If I just touch His garments, I will get well.”
M
She may not have understood it all, but she believed.
John 9:25 NASB95
25 He then answered, “Whether He is a sinner, I do not know; one thing I do know, that though I was blind, now I see.”
a. She followed in faith. She touched, it worked. It was personal faith in Jesus.
b. Her faith changed her life. No more pain, no more being an outcast.
c. Who ever you are going to share Jesus with may not be an outcast, but they still need the saving grace of Jesus.
d. Anyone who responds will receive His grace.

III. Receive God’s peace. VS 30-34

Mark 5:30 KJV 1900
30 And Jesus, immediately knowing in himself that virtue had gone out of him, turned him about in the press, and said, Who touched my clothes?
Mark 5:30 NASB95
30 Immediately Jesus, perceiving in Himself that the power proceeding from Him had gone forth, turned around in the crowd and said, “Who touched My garments?”
a. Jesus felt the power, He felt her faith. But He asks, who touched my clothes?”
b. She knew who he was talking about, He knew who had touched His clothes. He wanted her to confess.
c. Why does Jesus ask when He knew who it was? He wanted Her confessing. That’s important.
Matthew
Matthew 10:32 NASB95
32 “Therefore everyone who confesses Me before men, I will also confess him before My Father who is in heaven.
a. Jesus would not allow her to be unnoticed in what He had done for her in her life. She would have missed out of a personal is she would not made an public confession.
a. This miracle is also recorded in Luke.
Luke 8:47 NASB95
47 When the woman saw that she had not escaped notice, she came trembling and fell down before Him, and declared in the presence of all the people the reason why she had touched Him, and how she had been immediately healed.
Luke
Mark 5:
Mark 5:31 KJV 1900
31 And his disciples said unto him, Thou seest the multitude thronging thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me?
Mark 5:32 NASB95
32 And He looked around to see the woman who had done this.
Virtue: Power.
a. Jesus felt the power, He felt her faith. But He asks, who touched my clothes?”
b. She knew who he was talking about, He knew who had touched His clothes. He wanted her to confess.
c. Why does Jesus ask when He knew who it was? He wanted Her confessing. That’s important.
2. Why does Jesus command public confession of faith from her?
a. Jesus would not allow her to be unnoticed in what He had done for her in her life. She would have missed out of a personal is she would not made an public confession.
Think of what the disciples had seen over the passed few days. Elab
a. And there are so many people pressing Jesus and He asked who touched me. What kind of question was this? But, Jesus was not talking to them. He was talking to the one that had touched Him.
Mark 5:32 KJV 1900
32 And he looked round about to see her that had done this thing.
Mark 5:
Its wasn’t her works that made her whole, it was her faith.
Mark 5:32 NASB95
32 And He looked around to see the woman who had done this.
a.
Jesus turns and looks for the woman that ad touched him. As He was looking, she had to make up her mind what she was going to do.
a. She had enough faith to come to Jesus, but would she have enough courage to confess?
Romans
Romans 10:9 KJV 1900
9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
b. If someone prays and ask Jesus to save them, it needs to be made public.
Mark 5:
Mark 5:33 KJV 1900
33 But the woman fearing and trembling, knowing what was done in her, came and fell down before him, and told him all the truth.
Mark 5:33 NASB95
33 But the woman fearing and trembling, aware of what had happened to her, came and fell down before Him and told Him the whole truth.
She had faith, and now her faith had given way to fear, “fearing and trembling”
a. What did she have fear of? Jesus? Surly she know that she had no reason to fear Him.
b. Did she fear the gossip of the people?
c. What ever she feared, she came to Jesus and pourd her out heart out to Him.
d. She told Him her whole story. 12 year of misery. Hopeless Drs All her money gone. Her condition, unclean.
e. Her telling all the was not only for her benefit, but for those around her.
f. She had been set free.
Mark 5:34 KJV 1900
34 And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague.
Mark 5
He calls her daughter. The only time He very addressed anyone this way. She was a child of God. She was now a part of God’s family.
a. One of the great thing about public confession and joining a church. Having that fellowship.
b. This woman was changed. Jesus tells her to go in peace.
c. She was searching for something and she found it. She recieved peace. All because someone told her about Jesus.
