This plot point serves several purposes:
Demonstrates again Christ’s power as Messiah.
Illustrates His compassion.
Sets up the hard-hearts of the religious leaders AND disciples.

Jesus had as much time for Peter’s nonsense as He did the Pharisees’.

Peter’s place at the top of the pecking order was short lived.
We don’t need an experience; we need eyes to see.
Pray for those who are hard-hearted. They have only one hope.
