Heavenly Ways For Heavenly Paths
Our world (environment) does not determine who we are:
· Eccl 11:4 – If you observe the wind you will not sow – if you consider the clouds you will not reap
· Gen. 26:1, Gen. 26:12 – Famines don’t determine sowing or reaping
· 1 Chr. 4:10 – birthed in pain, but a blessing to the world
We must keep a kingdom focus:
· Prov 3:5-12
Proverbs 3:5–12 NASB95
Trust in the Lord with all your heart And do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He will make your paths straight. Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the Lord and turn away from evil. It will be healing to your body And refreshment to your bones. Honor the Lord from your wealth And from the first of all your produce; So your barns will be filled with plenty And your vats will overflow with new wine. My son, do not reject the discipline of the Lord Or loathe His reproof, For whom the Lord loves He reproves, Even as a father corrects the son in whom he delights.
· Lk. 17:20-21 – An internal Kingdom
· Rom. 14:17 – Righteousness, Peace, and Joy in the Holy Spirit
· Pr. 3:5-8 – Trust God – Not your own understanding – in all your ways acknowledge Him – He will direct your paths – don’t be wise in your own eyes – fear the Lord
· Pr. 3:9-12 Honor the Lord with your possessions, and with the firstfruits of all your increase;
o 10 So your barns will be filled with plenty, and your vats will overflow with new wine.
o 11 My son, do not despise the chastening of the Lord, nor detest His correction;
o 12 For whom the Lord loves He corrects, just as a father the son in whom he delights.
· Eph. 1:18-23 – we find our identity, our testimony, and our purpose in life in Christ
We must NAVIGATE God’s paths:
· We need to find heavenly paths that can transform our world in heavenly ways.
· How do we navigate the paths of God in a word that lives for the paths of human will?
· How do we navigate in a world that appears to oppose the character, nature, way, power, and authority of God?
· How do we navigate our own lives to become as God desires us to be?
· We need to find heavenly paths that can transform our world in heavenly ways.
o Lieut. Matthew Fontaine Maury U.S. Navy -He was nicknamed "Pathfinder of the Seas" and "Father of Modern Oceanography and Naval Meteorology" and later, "Scientist of the Seas"
· God has put the pathways in the sea - Ps. 8:8, Context = Ps. 8:4-6
We must find the path that leads to our destiny in Christ – Isaiah 2:2-3:
Isaiah 2:2–3 NASB95
Now it will come about that In the last days The mountain of the house of the Lord Will be established as the chief of the mountains, And will be raised above the hills; And all the nations will stream to it. And many peoples will come and say, “Come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, To the house of the God of Jacob; That He may teach us concerning His ways And that we may walk in His paths.” For the law will go forth from Zion And the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.
1. Be taught His ways
2. Walk in His paths
3. Become the place of God’s presence in the world
4. Become a place of God’s life-giving community in the world
God is going to reveal His faithfulness in many ways in 2019 - Psalms 37:1-7:
Psalm 37:1–7 NASB95
Do not fret because of evildoers, Be not envious toward wrongdoers. For they will wither quickly like the grass And fade like the green herb. Trust in the Lord and do good; Dwell in the land and cultivate faithfulness. Delight yourself in the Lord; And He will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord, Trust also in Him, and He will do it. He will bring forth your righteousness as the light And your judgment as the noonday. Rest in the Lord and wait patiently for Him; Do not fret because of him who prospers in his way, Because of the man who carries out wicked schemes.

· Apply your heart to instruction
· Apply your ears to knowledge
· Don’t withhold correction from a child or reject correction as a child of God

· Buy truth, wisdom, instruction, and understanding and don’t sell them.
Hebrews 12:25–29 NASB95
See to it that you do not refuse Him who is speaking. For if those did not escape when they refused him who warned them on earth, much less will we escape who turn away from Him who warns from heaven. And His voice shook the earth then, but now He has promised, saying, “Yet once more I will shake not only the earth, but also the heaven.” This expression, “Yet once more,” denotes the removing of those things which can be shaken, as of created things, so that those things which cannot be shaken may remain. Therefore, since we receive a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us show gratitude, by which we may offer to God an acceptable service with reverence and awe; for our God is a consuming fire.
