Personal Evangelism

the phrase personal evangelism causes a similar reaction as the phrase personal fitness. If you are preparing for any type of athletic competition, it is important to work out and get in shape. That way when we engage in battle, we have prepared ourselves to compete. Personal evangelism works the same way. When Jesus commanded that we go and make disciples, he knew the challenge. We must be willing to invest in our relationship with Christ on a day to day basis so we can share this great story with others without fear.
1 Peter 3:13–17 ESV
Now who is there to harm you if you are zealous for what is good? But even if you should suffer for righteousness’ sake, you will be blessed. Have no fear of them, nor be troubled, but in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect, having a good conscience, so that, when you are slandered, those who revile your good behavior in Christ may be put to shame. For it is better to suffer for doing good, if that should be God’s will, than for doing evil.
1 Peter 3:13-

Teaching Point one

To effectively share our faith, we must cease to be afraid.
1 peter 3:13-14
1 Peter 3:13–14 ESV
Now who is there to harm you if you are zealous for what is good? But even if you should suffer for righteousness’ sake, you will be blessed. Have no fear of them, nor be troubled,
How do we overcome the fear or anxiety of being obedient to God through sharing our faith? Preach the Gospel to ourselves daily, in order to share the Gospel to others faithfully. What does this mean?
What does it mean to be zealous?

Teaching Point 2

we must preach the Gospel to ourselves daily, in order to share the Gospel to others faithfully
1 Peter
1 Peter 3:15 ESV
but in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect,
Due to the Roman Empire, the Christian community could on longer congregate in large numbers. They had become an easy target for hostility. Fear ran rampant in the hearts of the redeemed, but Peter steps up to the microphone and challenges the cowardice. If anyone knew what it felt like to deny Jesus, it was Peter.
Peter understood the Gospel. He must internalized it in a pretty substantial way to be able to overcome his fear.
Here is some frame work for how we can Preach the Gospel to ourselves daily.
We have to be bold
The most prevalent reason why people do not share their faith in Jesus Christ is not because they are not moved by their own salvation, but instead of one four letter word known as fear. “Have no fear of them.”
We must honor God
to honor Christ as lord is simply defined as setting Him apart from everything else in your life. Christ doesn’t desire to be an item on a priority list. He desires to be the list. God is holy! We separate Him as Lord in our life because he is King.
We must be prepared
We Must be humble

Teaching Point 3

In order to relentlessly share the Gospel, we must first have compassion for the unredeemed
Our view of people must change. Learn how to have Gospel conversations.
