1 Kings 17:8-16 (NLT) 8 Then the Lord said to Elijah, 9 “Go and live in the v illage of Zarephath, near the city of Sidon. I have instructed a widow there to feed you.” 10 So he went to Zarephath. As he arrived at the gates of the village, he saw a widow gathering sticks, and he asked her, “Would you please bring me a little water in a cup?” 11 As she was going to get it, he called to her, “Bring me a bite of bread, too.” 12 But she said, “I swear by the Lord your God that I don’t have a single piece of bread in the house. And I have only a handful of flour left in the jar and a little cooking oil in the bottom of the jug. I was just gathering a few sticks to cook this last meal, and then my son and I will die.” 13 But Elijah said to her, “Don’t be afraid! Go ahead and do just what you’ve said, but make a little bread for me first. Then use what’s left to prepare a meal for yourself and your son. 14 For this is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: There will always be flour and olive oil left in your containers until the time when the Lord sends rain and the crops grow again!” 15 So she did as Elijah said, and she and Elijah and her family continued to eat for many days. 16 There was always enough flour and olive oil left in the containers, just as the Lord had promised through Elijah.

Luego, con lo que te sobre, prepara la comida para ti y tu hijo. 14 Pues el Señor, Dios de Israel dice: “Siempre habrá harina y aceite de oliva en tus recipientes, ¡hasta que el Señor mande lluvia y vuelvan a crecer los cultivos!”. 15 Así que ella hizo lo que Elías le dijo, y ella, su familia y Elías comieron durante muchos días. 16 Siempre había suficiente harina y aceite de oliva en los recipientes, tal como el Señor lo había prometido por medio de Elías.

2 Timothy 4:1-22 (NLT) 4 I solemnly urge you in the presence of God and Christ Jesus, who will someday judge the living and the dead when he comes to set up his Kingdom: 2 Preach the word of God. Be prepared, whether the time is favorable or not. Patiently correct, rebuke, and encourage your people with good teaching. 3 For a time is coming when people will no longer listen to sound and wholesome teaching. They will follow their own desires and will look for teachers who will tell them whatever their itching ears want to hear. 4 They will reject the truth and chase after myths. 5 But you should keep a clear mind in every situation. Don’t be afraid of suffering for the Lord. Work at telling others the Good News, and fully carry out the ministry God has given you. 6 As for me, my life has already been poured out as an offering to God. The time of my death is near. 7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, and I have remained faithful.8 And now the prize awaits me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give me on the day of his return. And the prize is not just for me but for all who eagerly look forward to his appearing. 9 Timothy, please come as soon as you can. 10 Demas has deserted me because he loves the things of this life and has gone to Thessalonica. Crescens has gone to Galatia, and Titus has gone to Dalmatia. 11 Only Luke is with me. Bring Mark with you when you come, for he will be helpful to me in my ministry.12 I sent Tychicus to Ephesus. 13 When you come, be sure to bring the coat I left with Carpus at Troas. Also bring my books, and especially my papers. 14 Alexander the coppersmith did me much harm, but the Lord will judge him for what he has done. 15 Be careful of him, for he fought against everything we said. 16 The first time I was brought before the judge, no one came with me. Everyone abandoned me. May it not be counted against them. 17 But the Lord stood with me and gave me strength so that I might preach the Good News in its entirety for all the Gentiles to hear. And he rescued me from certain death. 18 Yes, and the Lord will deliver me from every evil attack and will bring me safely into his heavenly Kingdom. All glory to God forever and ever! Amen. 19 Give my greetings to Priscilla and Aquila and those living in the household of Onesiphorus. 20 Erastus stayed at Corinth, and I left Trophimus sick at Miletus. 21 Do your best to get here before winter. Eubulus sends you greetings, and so do Pudens, Linus, Claudia, and all the brothers and sisters. 22 May the Lord be with your spirit. And may his grace be with all of you.

Se acerca el tiempo de mi muerte. 7 He peleado la buena batalla, he terminado la carrera y he permanecido fiel.8 Ahora me espera el premio, la corona de justicia que el Señor, el Juez justo, me dará el día de su regreso; y el premio no es solo para mí, sino para todos los que esperan con anhelo su venida. 9 Timoteo, por favor, ven lo más pronto posible. 10 Demas me abandonó porque ama las cosas de esta vida y se fue a Tesalónica. Crescente se fue a Galacia, y Tito a Dalmacia.11 Solo Lucas está conmigo. Trae a Marcos contigo cuando vengas, porque me será de ayuda en mi ministerio. 12 A Tíquico lo envié a Éfeso. 13 Cuando vengas, no te olvides de traer el abrigo que dejé con Carpo en Troas. Tráeme también mis libros y especialmente mis pergaminos. 14 Alejandro el que trabaja el cobre me hizo mucho daño, pero el Señor lo juzgará por lo que ha hecho. 15 Cuídate de él, porque se opuso firmemente a todo lo que dijimos. 16 La primera vez que fui llevado ante el juez, nadie me acompañó. Todos me abandonaron; que no se lo tomen en cuenta. 17 Pero el Señor estuvo a mi lado y me dio fuerzas, a fin de que yo pudiera predicar la Buena Noticia en toda su plenitud, para que todos los gentiles la oyeran. Y él me libró de una muerte segura. 18 Así es, y el Señor me librará de todo ataque maligno y me llevará a salvo a su reino celestial. ¡A Dios sea toda la gloria por siempre y para siempre! Amén. 19 Dales mis saludos a Priscila y a Aquila, y a los que viven en la casa de Onesíforo. 20 Erasto se quedó en Corinto, y a Trófimo lo dejé enfermo en Mileto. 21 Haz todo lo posible por llegar aquí antes del invierno.
