Do you believe that God has a plan for your life?

Do you believe that God has a plan for your life?
Stepping out of your comfort zone

Do you believe that you are equipped to carry out those plans?

For the next question, Be Honest

Have you battled fear, uncertainty and doubt stepping into or believing what God has called you to do?

Have you felt harassed by the enemy?

Stepping out of your comfort zone
Stepping out of your comfort zone
Are you alive?
Well I can tell you that the fact the your still alive means that the enemy has not succeeded in taking you out AND God still has a plan for your life.
Just like for you, God had a plan for the Israelites when He delivered them from Egypt.
The fact the your still alive means that God still has a plan for your life. God had a plan for the Israelites when He delivered them from Egypt.
Exodus 3:8 ESV
8 and I have come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians and to bring them up out of that land to a good and broad land, a land flowing with milk and honey, to the place of the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Amorites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites.
Exodus 3:7–8 ESV
7 Then the Lord said, “I have surely seen the affliction of my people who are in Egypt and have heard their cry because of their taskmasters. I know their sufferings, 8 and I have come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians and to bring them up out of that land to a good and broad land, a land flowing with milk and honey, to the place of the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Amorites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites.
His plan was great, better than they could have possibly imagined. But if we pay close attention the the later part of His statement, we see that that land is currently inhabited. You see, we know the end of the story for them but Moses was to wrapped up trying to convince God that he wasn't the right person to face Pharaoh or lead the people to the promise land, he forgot to ask a key question; What about the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Amorites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites who already inhabit the land? You see this was the plan God first spoke long before the spies crossed the border into the “Promise Land”.
Later in we see that Moses is past his inadequacies, and the Lord unfolds His plan for them to take over the promise land. His plan is to give them the land but it all hinges on their faith and obedience in Him. But what happens when they arrive at the Jordan? They set up camp and sent out their spies.
Numbers 13:25–33 ESV
25 At the end of forty days they returned from spying out the land. 26 And they came to Moses and Aaron and to all the congregation of the people of Israel in the wilderness of Paran, at Kadesh. They brought back word to them and to all the congregation, and showed them the fruit of the land. 27 And they told him, “We came to the land to which you sent us. It flows with milk and honey, and this is its fruit. 28 However, the people who dwell in the land are strong, and the cities are fortified and very large. And besides, we saw the descendants of Anak there. 29 The Amalekites dwell in the land of the Negeb. The Hittites, the Jebusites, and the Amorites dwell in the hill country. And the Canaanites dwell by the sea, and along the Jordan.” 30 But Caleb quieted the people before Moses and said, “Let us go up at once and occupy it, for we are well able to overcome it.” 31 Then the men who had gone up with him said, “We are not able to go up against the people, for they are stronger than we are.” 32 So they brought to the people of Israel a bad report of the land that they had spied out, saying, “The land, through which we have gone to spy it out, is a land that devours its inhabitants, and all the people that we saw in it are of great height. 33 And there we saw the Nephilim (the sons of Anak, who come from the Nephilim), and we seemed to ourselves like grasshoppers, and so we seemed to them.”
Numbers 13
Gods plan for them was to prosper and live in a “land flowing with milk and honey” but that was going to require them to step out of their comfort zone and into the unknown, the dangerous, the point of no return. A place that required faith. And we know from James that faith without works is dead, so what are the works of faith in their case, trust in the promise of God. Step out!
They had a choice.
Exodus 23:29 ESV
29 I will not drive them out from before you in one year, lest the land become desolate and the wild beasts multiply against you.
Ex 20:23They chose poorly. That poor choice devastated them and ultimately prevented the entire generation from achieving Gods plan for their lives.
They chose poorly. That poor choice devastated them and ultimately prevented the entire generation from achieving Gods plan for their lives.
FUD - Fear, uncertainty doubt
So do you think that God didn't love the spies or that generation because of their disobedience?
NO ONE can devastate our life as much as we can!
I think that God loved them so much that he prevented the fear
Everyday you must choose to live life by Gods plan OR choose your own plan

Fast forward 40 years later, Joshua and Caleb return to begin the conquest that was delayed by the poor choice. We see very little mention or reference to the giants that had once had deterred them from their calling. In it says that Joshua “cut off” or “utterly destroyed” the giants in the promise land but he did not pursue them to Gaza, Ashdod, and Gath.
and they chose poorly. That poor choice ultimately prevented the entire generation from achieving Gods plan for them. We know that only Joshua and Caleb ultimately crossed the Jordan to occupy the land.
We fall victim to unbelief in who God says we are. We begin to believe the lies of the enemy as we wrestle with fear, uncertainty and doubt.

What do you suppose would have been the result of Joshua going beyond what he was called to do and pursue and destroy the Anak in the surrounding cities”?

And they were gathered at Socoh, which belongs to Judah, and encamped between Socoh and Azekah, in Ephes-dammim. 2 And Saul and the men of Israel were gathered, and encamped in the Valley of Elah, and drew up in line of battle against the Philistines. 3 And the Philistines stood on the mountain on the one side, and Israel stood on the mountain on the other side, with a valley between them.

Here we see both Armies’ emerge from their camps in the morning and took positions along the mountain sides with a valley between them. These battle lines in modern warfare are referred to as the FLOT - Forward Line of Own Troops.

FLOT is a line that indicates the most forward positions of friendly forces in any kind of military operation at a specific time. The forward line of own troops (FLOT) normally identifies the forward location of covering and screening forces. The FLOT may be at, beyond, or short of the forward edge of the battle area. The FLOT is a dangerous place and to go beyond the FLOT is the place where many heroes are born, it is the place that God is calling each of us just like David.
We all face giants in our lives, There are not NEW
Giants don't typically just come into your camp looking for a fight, in fact looking at scripture, we couldn't find any instances where the giants invade the camp of the believer
You don't kill giants in the safety of your camp, your most go beyond the FLOT to defeat the giants.

We were born into a spiritual battle and most people don't recognize it. The battle ground can be physical, those are the easy ones to identify but often it is a combination of spiritual and mental.

1. Fullness of Identity

1. Fullness of Identity

No one can devastate our lives as much as we can
As a soldier, its important to know who you are and what your capabilities are when your operating beyond the FLOT. Failure to understand your identity as a soldier is almost certain death in these situations. It is for soldiers on the battlefields today just as it was for David.
David knew who he was and what he was capable of, that enabled him to take out Goliath.
David knew who he was and what he was capable of, that enabled him to take out Goliath.
He spent many nights under the stars with the Lord. He knew his strengths and weaknesses through the tribulations and encounters that he faced where God had already proved Himself faithful and that He was there when he took out the lion and the bear.
He had relationship with the Lord! From that relationship flowed his confidence!
We can talk about identity all year because our identity is not only a message in itself, it is an entire series of messages. but there are a few take a ways that I need to mention that are essential to our walk. It is imperative that we understand who we are. There are many scriptures that speak to our identity as sons and daughters of the living God. We must stay grounded in the Word because ultimately, you cant apply what you don't know
What is your relationship with the Lord?
Would you be Joshua, Caleb OR one of the other 10 spies? Would you be David OR the soldiers? Who would you be in these stories based on your relationship?
if you are walking in the fullness of your identity you will call into quesiton without fail the identity of the giant EVERYTIME
“who is this uncircumcised Philistine”
NO, Who are YOU
When we walk in
There are many scriptures that speak to our identity as sons and daughters of the living God. We must stay grounded in the Word because ultimately, you cant apply what you don't know
God Loves You
God Loves You
God is watching over you
God formed you intimately with intention
God has a plan for your life
God has a plan for your life
God strengthens you through faith ,
In 1519, Hernán Cortés set sail to Veracruz, Mexico with his crew. Upon arrival, Cortés' men became weary and scared, with hopes of turning back home to their old life.
As legend has it, Cortez had the men burn their ships, leaving no option but to press on! Their ability to retreat to their previous way of life was gone; their safety net had been removed.

The burning of those ships represented much more than a separation from old ways. The same fire that set the ships ablaze also allowed Cortés men to complete their mission and be a part of something greater than themselves.

Burning our ships means there is no turning back to old habits and ways. In this world we wrestle with all kinds of different physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual battles. To allow great change in our lives, we must find the root of those struggles - our own ships that can be so tempting to sail back on - and burn them.

God is looking to bless every believer in a unique way to be a sign to the non-believer
NO one goes to hell because of sin, ALL sin was forgiven, they go becasue they commit the unpardonable sin, they reject Jesus!
When we are not grounded in the word, we fall victim to unbelief. When we forget who God says we are, we begin to believe the lies of the enemy as we wrestle with fear, uncertainty and doubt.
MICHELE (IDENTITY) Intimidation always empowers fear which leads to unbelief

Abraham, NO UNBELIEF, FULLY CONVINCED that God would fulfill His promises!

NO, Who are YOU

2. Love

Love is a very powerful thing. It provokes us to do many things. It is a very powerful driving force that can push us forward.
Close your eyes and for a minute and let this sink in.
John 3:16 ESV
16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
PRAY for revelation
Keep your eyes closed for a min and consider this
Romans 8:35-39
Nothing can separate us from the love of God ()
Romans 8:35–39 ESV
35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword? 36 As it is written, “For your sake we are being killed all the day long; we are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered.” 37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38 For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, 39 nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 8:31–39 ESV
31 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32 He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things? 33 Who shall bring any charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies. 34 Who is to condemn? Christ Jesus is the one who died—more than that, who was raised—who is at the right hand of God, who indeed is interceding for us.

I would venture to say that this pretty much covers any thing, including giants!
Do you think that a Giant is covered by that description of His Love for us?
Just getting an inkling of understanding of Gods love for us can empower us to operate beyond the FLOT.
is another key to achieving success operating beyond the FLOT. Love is important and we see it throughout scripture. We are told first to love God with all our heart, with all our soul and all our might ()
We love God because He first loved us!

Deuteronomy 6:5 ESV
5 You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might.
Then Jesus references back to this scripture in the gospel accounts of , , and . These references reinforce the importance of Loving God first and foremost in your life.
Luke 10:27 ESV
27 And he answered, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself.”
Mark 12:30 ESV
30 And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’
David was a great example of loving the Lord regardless of the situation. In fact his love was developed as a lowely shepard in the fields to a place that he was prepared to defend the honor of the Lord against the accusations of a giant.
Matthew 22:37 ESV
37 And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.
matthew 22:37
1 John 4:7 ESV
7 Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God.
David was a great example of loving the Lord regardless of the situation.
1 john
Love is so important it is in the first 2 commandments
1 John 4:18 ESV
18 There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love.
David had a fierce love for God and it was that love that drove out fear
David had a fierce love for God and it was that love that drove out fear
John 15:13 ESV
13 Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.
1 John 4:8 ESV
8 Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love.
1 Corinthians 13:13 ESV
13 So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love.
Love is a powerful force but must be steered while we are firm in our identity or we risk moving in the wrong direction.

3. Obedience

Simple Obedience, You only need to be in or beyond the FLOT when the Lord instructs you.
)

MICHELE - Ministry Story
1 Samuel 17:1 ESV
Now the Philistines gathered their armies for battle. And they were gathered at Socoh, which belongs to Judah, and encamped between Socoh and Azekah, in Ephes-dammim.
1 Sam 17
if you cant hear, you cant follow
a phrase you never want to hear the Lord say to you “Saul, What have you done?”
If you cant follow, you wont succeed
1 Samuel 15:22 ESV
22 And Samuel said, “Has the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to listen than the fat of rams.
We really must learn to hear from the Lord, that hearing comes from that time that we spend in the secret place with Him.
if you cant hear, you cant follow
If you cant follow, you wont succeed
JASON -Story Exam
Moses heard, he followed, he accomplished his mission
Joshua heard, he followed, he accomplished his mission
David heard, he followed, he accomplished his mission
If you cant hear, you cant follow
If you cant follow, you wont succeed
Obedience is a key that will unlock things that you are not capable of unlocking on your own.

When God calls you to it, HE will equip you through it!

4. Thankfulness

We are commanded in to “Rejoice Always, pray without ceasing, giving thanks in all circumstances”
Thankfulness is a position of the heart and it is a lifestyle. Moses commanded the Israelites to build alters for both burnt offerings and peace offerings as a thanks to the Lord for what He was doing in their lives. We see Joshua continue with the tradition of sacrifices() but he took it even a step further in where he had each of the tribes collect a stone from the Jordan and stack them in the camp after they crossed to serve as a reminder to the great acts that the Lord had done. Throughout the Psalms we see David giving praise and thanks to the Lord. Even during the toughest seasons of his life we see him expressing thanks to the Lord.

Gratefulness keeps our cup full where we are focusing on the blessings that we are receiving or walking in
Gratefulness keeps our cup half full where we are focusing on the blessings that we are receiving or walking in where ungratefulness keeps you bound, walking in circles as you mutter and complain, staying focused on the things that you don't have.
Ungratefulness keeps you bound, walking in circles as you mutter and complain, staying focused on the things that you don't have.
When we fail to be thankful for the many things that are going on, we become susceptible to calling out the things that we see that do not seem to be working out at that particular moment in time.
1 Thessalonians 5:16–18 ESV
16 Rejoice always, 17 pray without ceasing, 18 give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
Ephesians 5:19–20 ESV
19 addressing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody to the Lord with your heart, 20 giving thanks always and for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ,
Eph
Psalm 50:14–15 ESV
14 Offer to God a sacrifice of thanksgiving, and perform your vows to the Most High, 15 and call upon me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify me.”
ps 50:
Looking through the New Testament Jesus gave thanks to the Father at least 5 time
, , , , ,
if Jesus gives thanks to the Father in every prayer He prays, I would say that remaining thankful is extremely important
Resolve to be a thankful person every day
if Jesus gives thanks to the Father in every prayer He prays, I would say that remaining thankful is extremely important
