As a matter of fact he encourages those around him to smile.

I found myself singing I’m living my best life.

Today’s text reveals the Lord speaking and reminding us to forget the past and embrace the new.
Verses 18 and 19 18  “Remember not the former things, nor consider the things of old.
19  Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it?

God is calling us to our best life now.
Yet he lays out how we must do it.
He says remember not things of old or the former things.
These things tho the were great was a stepping stone to the life he has for us.
Go has worked many miracles on behalf of his chosen people.
He delivered from Egypt by allowing them to cross the Red Sea on dry land.
He destroyed the Egyptians army and its horses and chariots in that same sea.
Now he tells of a future that he will bring to reality.
The Lord said he would make ways in the wilderness and provide water in desert places.
Two things stand out in this text.
Direction and Life
Jesus himself said I am the Way, the truth and the life… No man comes to the Father but by him.
So if you are going to live your best life you must accept His Direction.
Direction means he points us in the right way.
Song writer said I once was lost but now I’m found!
In life we can get lost.
We get lost in careers, relationships, idleness, bizziness , and so much more.
Yet if we do as the word says our focus change and we start seeing what new things God has for us.
He beckons us to follow him.
In today Sunday School lesson we learn of the call of Peter, Andrew , James and John.
These two sets of brothers had thriving fishing business yet they left it all.
The cost of following Jesus says there are some people we must leave behind.
Some dependencies we must leave behind.
Our commitment to Christ must be so strong that we cant distracted.
All of us have mad some wrong turns.
This is why Jesus in Mathew 4 that Jesus said Repent the King of Heaven is at hand.
This was the same message that John preached.
The word repent means to change one’s way of life as the result of a complete change of thought and attitude with regard to sin and righteousness—‘to repent, to change one’s way,
Its the same today we must repent and change direction.
In order to live you best life you must be saved.
You must live a life in Christ.
As Paul said when we are in Christ we are a whole new creation.
In order to change direction you must forget those things in the past.
We hold on to so much and affects our relationships with God and man.
When we repent we understand the focal component of repentence is the sorrow or contrition that a person experiences because of sin, the emphasis on the total change, both in thought and behavior, with respect to how one should both think and act.
Secondly he will provide water in the desert.
How many know you cannot survive without water?
Water is life!

The first instance is found in John chapter 4. Jesus was tired and sat at a well while His disciples went into town to buy food.
A Samaritan woman came to draw water, and Jesus asked her for a drink.
The Samaritan woman was quite shocked because Jesus was a Jew, and Jews simply hated the Samaritans.
Of course, she had no idea who Jesus was and asked Him how He could ask her for water since He was a Jew.

Jesus ignored the question and went right to the point, “If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him and he would have given you living water” ().
Notice that He does not say that He is the living water, but that He would give living water to her, and when she received it, she would never thirst again.
Of course, that does not tell us what the living water is!
For that, we must go to another passage of Scripture.
In this case, Jesus is in the temple surrounded by a throng of worshippers.
He suddenly cried out, “If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink.
He who believes in Me, as the Scriptures said, ‘From his innermost being will flow rivers of living water.
We have the living water through the power of the Holy Spirit.
The Holy Spirit that Jesus gives us when we are saved.
Yes Isaiah said the Lord said for I give water in the wilderness, rivers in the desert, to give drink to my chosen people

So from the words of you living your best life he tells us to smile
At one point in the song he said if you breathin then you are achievinhbg.
Would that be a great approach.
