An agreement or the settlement of a dispute that is reached by BOTH SIDES making concessions

Compromise
Context - lineage of Cain and lineage of Seth
Cain’s line grew, expanded, started civilization etc
Key: Don’t be fooled by the prosperity you see in others (not always blessing)
an agreement or a settlement of a dispute that is reached by each side making concessions: an ability to listen to two sides in a dispute, and devise a compromise acceptable to both | the secret of a happy marriage is compromise.
And we know they were driven by what they saw in verse 2
Genesis 6:2 ESV
the sons of God saw that the daughters of man were attractive. And they took as their wives any they chose.
Gen 6 2
Genesis 3:6 ESV
So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was to be desired to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate, and she also gave some to her husband who was with her, and he ate.
They “saw” - the power of seeing (not just sight but lust and desire for what they saw; filled with selfish greed and ambition;
The took: They made a deliberate choice to take wives from the line of Cain, even though this mixing was a contamination of the Godly seed from Seth
BUT THERE IS SOMETHING YOU NEED TO SEE HERE! GET THIS BECAUSE IT IS CRUCIAL:

THEY COULD NOT HELP THEMSELVES BECAUSE SIN NOT ONLY RUNS DEEP IT GOES WAAAY BACK

THEY WERE STAINED WITH A DISPOSITION AND A CURSE IF YOU WILL, THAT COULD NOT BE BROKEN IN AND OF THEMSELVES
THEY WERE DOING THINGS THAT WENT SEVEN - EIGHT GENERATIONS BACK!!!
NOTE THE SIMILARITIES OF PASSION AND ACTIONS
Genesis 3:6 ESV
So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was to be desired to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate, and she also gave some to her husband who was with her, and he ate.
GRAVE LIVING IS LIVING SINFULLY ON PURPOSE!
GRAVE LIVING IS OBEYING YOUR THIRSTS AND PASSION ON PURPOSE
GRAVE LIVING IS THE GRAVE WE DIG - OURSELVES
MEN, VOID OF THE TRANSFORMING LIFE OF GOD ARE MEN AND WOMEN BOUND BY THE CURSE OF THE GARDEN
PETER PUTS IT THIS WAY
2 Peter 2:14 ESV
They have eyes full of adultery, insatiable for sin. They entice unsteady souls. They have hearts trained in greed. Accursed children!
an agreement or a settlement of a dispute that is reached by BOTH SIDES making concessions: .
See, when you begin to even allow yourself to even THINK about conceding something to the world, you are on the slippery downward slope
Corruption

B. Corruption

Genesis 6:5 ESV
The Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intention of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.

THE IMPLICATION OF THIS WICKEDNESS
Genesis 6:3 ESV
Then the Lord said, “My Spirit shall not abide in man forever, for he is flesh: his days shall be 120 years.”
Genesis 6:6–7 ESV
And the Lord regretted that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him to his heart. So the Lord said, “I will blot out man whom I have created from the face of the land, man and animals and creeping things and birds of the heavens, for I am sorry that I have made them.”
GEN 6
Genesis 6–7 ESV
When man began to multiply on the face of the land and daughters were born to them, the sons of God saw that the daughters of man were attractive. And they took as their wives any they chose. Then the Lord said, “My Spirit shall not abide in man forever, for he is flesh: his days shall be 120 years.” The Nephilim were on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of man and they bore children to them. These were the mighty men who were of old, the men of renown. The Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intention of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. And the Lord regretted that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him to his heart. So the Lord said, “I will blot out man whom I have created from the face of the land, man and animals and creeping things and birds of the heavens, for I am sorry that I have made them.” But Noah found favor in the eyes of the Lord. These are the generations of Noah. Noah was a righteous man, blameless in his generation. Noah walked with God. And Noah had three sons, Shem, Ham, and Japheth. Now the earth was corrupt in God’s sight, and the earth was filled with violence. And God saw the earth, and behold, it was corrupt, for all flesh had corrupted their way on the earth. And God said to Noah, “I have determined to make an end of all flesh, for the earth is filled with violence through them. Behold, I will destroy them with the earth. Make yourself an ark of gopher wood. Make rooms in the ark, and cover it inside and out with pitch. This is how you are to make it: the length of the ark 300 cubits, its breadth 50 cubits, and its height 30 cubits. Make a roof for the ark, and finish it to a cubit above, and set the door of the ark in its side. Make it with lower, second, and third decks. For behold, I will bring a flood of waters upon the earth to destroy all flesh in which is the breath of life under heaven. Everything that is on the earth shall die. But I will establish my covenant with you, and you shall come into the ark, you, your sons, your wife, and your sons’ wives with you. And of every living thing of all flesh, you shall bring two of every sort into the ark to keep them alive with you. They shall be male and female. Of the birds according to their kinds, and of the animals according to their kinds, of every creeping thing of the ground, according to its kind, two of every sort shall come in to you to keep them alive. Also take with you every sort of food that is eaten, and store it up. It shall serve as food for you and for them.” Noah did this; he did all that God commanded him. Then the Lord said to Noah, “Go into the ark, you and all your household, for I have seen that you are righteous before me in this generation. Take with you seven pairs of all clean animals, the male and his mate, and a pair of the animals that are not clean, the male and his mate, and seven pairs of the birds of the heavens also, male and female, to keep their offspring alive on the face of all the earth. For in seven days I will send rain on the earth forty days and forty nights, and every living thing that I have made I will blot out from the face of the ground.” And Noah did all that the Lord had commanded him. Noah was six hundred years old when the flood of waters came upon the earth. And Noah and his sons and his wife and his sons’ wives with him went into the ark to escape the waters of the flood. Of clean animals, and of animals that are not clean, and of birds, and of everything that creeps on the ground, two and two, male and female, went into the ark with Noah, as God had commanded Noah. And after seven days the waters of the flood came upon the earth. In the six hundredth year of Noah’s life, in the second month, on the seventeenth day of the month, on that day all the fountains of the great deep burst forth, and the windows of the heavens were opened. And rain fell upon the earth forty days and forty nights. On the very same day Noah and his sons, Shem and Ham and Japheth, and Noah’s wife and the three wives of his sons with them entered the ark, they and every beast, according to its kind, and all the livestock according to their kinds, and every creeping thing that creeps on the earth, according to its kind, and every bird, according to its kind, every winged creature. They went into the ark with Noah, two and two of all flesh in which there was the breath of life. And those that entered, male and female of all flesh, went in as God had commanded him. And the Lord shut him in. The flood continued forty days on the earth. The waters increased and bore up the ark, and it rose high above the earth. The waters prevailed and increased greatly on the earth, and the ark floated on the face of the waters. And the waters prevailed so mightily on the earth that all the high mountains under the whole heaven were covered. The waters prevailed above the mountains, covering them fifteen cubits deep. And all flesh died that moved on the earth, birds, livestock, beasts, all swarming creatures that swarm on the earth, and all mankind. Everything on the dry land in whose nostrils was the breath of life died. He blotted out every living thing that was on the face of the ground, man and animals and creeping things and birds of the heavens. They were blotted out from the earth. Only Noah was left, and those who were with him in the ark. And the waters prevailed on the earth 150 days.

C. Condemnation

Condemnation
Genesis 6:7 ESV
So the Lord said, “I will blot out man whom I have created from the face of the land, man and animals and creeping things and birds of the heavens, for I am sorry that I have made them.”

II. THE GRACE WE RECEIVE IS THE GRAVE JESUS CONQUERED

Genesis 6:8 ESV
But Noah found favor in the eyes of the Lord.
In all of the chaos and confusion; in all the darkness and depravity: NOAH FOUND GRACE
But what is powerful about this verse is the word “BUT”
“used to introduce a phrase or clause contrasting with what has already been mentioned
God said he was going to destroy all of mankind - BUT Noah found grace
STORY OF A FATHER AND A SON RIDING IN THE CAR - BEE IN THE CAR. THE SON WAS GOING CRAZY BECAUSE HE WAS SCARED OF THE BEE AND DIDNT WANT TO GET STUNG. HE ASKED THE DAD TO ROLL DOWN THE WINDOW - BUT THE BEE WOULD NOT GO OUT THE CAR. THEN THE FATHER, IN A QUICK MOMENT, CAUGHT THE BEE. HE SAID I GOT IT SON, YOU DONT HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT HIM ANYMORE. THEN , AFTER A FEW MOMENTS THE DAD LET THE BEE GO. THE BEE STARTED BUZZING AND THE SON STARTED GOING CRAZY AND SAISD, DAD WHY DID YOU LET THE BEE GO? THE DAD OPENED HIS HAND AND SHOWED THE SON THE STINGER FROM THE BEE. YOU DON’T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT THE BEE SON, HE CANT HURT YOU; I TOOK THE STING.
SOME OF YOU HAVE PROBLEMS SWIRMING AROUND YOU AND YOU TRYING TO FUGHT IT AND GOING CRAZY, BUT THE SAVIOR SAYS - LOOK AT MY HAND.
IN OTHER WORDS, THINGS HAVE CHANGED NOW BECAUSE MY GRACE TOOK THE STING - MY GRACE SHATTERED THE GRAVE LIFE THAT SEEKS TO WEAR YOU DOWN AND PULL YOU BACK

THE BUT GOD DOES NOT PRETEND THAT YOU DID NOT WEAR GRAVE CLOTES; NO, IT ONLY DECLARES THAT YOU HAVE DESIGNER CLOTHES DESIGNED BY THE DESIGNER OF ALL THINGS:
YOU DON’T WEAR GUCCI - YOU WEAR GODLY
YOU DON’T WEAR FUBU - YOU NOW WEAR HOIL - (HE ONLY IS LIFE)
Oh, I know its dark right now but don’t be troubled by it – BUT GOD TOOK THE STING THAT YOU MIGHT FIND GRACE But Noah found grace
I know its heavy right now but don’t be troubled by it – BUT GOD TOOK THE STING THAT YOU MIGHT FIND GRACE
I know its painful right now but don’t be troubled by it – BUT GOD TOOK THE STING THAT YOU MIGHT FIND GRACE
I know its not right right now but don’t be troubled by it – BUT GOD TOOK THE STING THAT YOU MIGHT FIND GRACE
1 Corinthians 15:58 ESV
Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.

Now, the evil line is emerging with skillful deception; the enemy is growing
Now, the people of God are
These men and women are dead and are merely reflecting what it looks like to live from the grave
