Hebrews 13:8 NKJV
8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
you can Bet on sooner or later
Jesus is truly the only thing that we can bet on with all confidence that He is never going to change or let us down.
Jesus’s Character and what is written in the bible about him is a for sure thing/absolute. Not changing and a foundation in our life. So we can Bet on Jesus.
John’s purpose of writing the Gospel of John was so “ that you may believe/Bet that Jesus is the Christ, the son of God, and that believing/betting on Him you may have life in His name.”
John 1:1–5 NKJV
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. 4 In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. 5 And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.
John 1:14 NKJV
14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.

7 statements said about Jesus that we can bet on

In the beginning was the Word

This is to point back to where it says ‘ in the beginning God.’
This implies/states that the Word was in the Beginning and because of that is Divine
Jesus was not just some prophet of a holy man that died on a cross, but he was the Word/God made flesh and was
there in the beginning of it all.
He was there at the beginning of the world.

and the Word was with God

story of when i was playing lazer tag with only
have you ever been with your friend, but not be with your friend
Jesus was With God ( face to face relationship ), no one know the Father like Jesus did
John 1:18 NIV
18 No one has ever seen God, but the one and only Son, who is himself God and is in closest relationship with the Father, has made him known.
John 1:
John 14:8–9 NKJV
8 Philip said to Him, “Lord, show us the Father, and it is sufficient for us.” 9 Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you so long, and yet you have not known Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; so how can you say, ‘Show us the Father’?
Jesus says this to his disciples
John 14:8–9 NKJV
8 Philip said to Him, “Lord, show us the Father, and it is sufficient for us.” 9 Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you so long, and yet you have not known Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; so how can you say, ‘Show us the Father’?

and the Word was God

with was we just read, this is a statement showing the trinity ( One God, three persons )
What God was the Word was also
if God is mighty the word is mighty as well, if God is love the word is love to
John 14:8–9 NKJV
8 Philip said to Him, “Lord, show us the Father, and it is sufficient for us.” 9 Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you so long, and yet you have not known Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; so how can you say, ‘Show us the Father’?
This just paints a picture of the fact that God is three beings in one. You can’t have one without the others.

He was with God in the beginning

this just reiterates what John was saying in the first statement. John wrote this to try to get the people of the day to see that Jesus was God.
John: An Introduction and Commentary A. The Word as He Was in the Beginning (1:1–5)

the Word was in intimate relationship with God and he was in that relationship at the very beginning.

All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made

Colossians 1:16–17 NKJV
16 For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. 17 And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist.

we where never designed to do it alone. If God needed the Word, so do we

In Him was life, and the life was the light to men

Jesus is a savior, he is what gives us light

John 12:35 NKJV
35 Then Jesus said to them, “A little while longer the light is with you. Walk while you have the light, lest darkness overtake you; he who walks in darkness does not know where he is going.
So we understand that same concept, when we look at Jesus we lo
