Turning to God in Obedient Submission.

A Scheme of Satan is to persuade you that the work of repentance is easy work and that your sin isn’t really a big deal.

Suppose you do sin (Says Satan).

It’s not difficult to return, confess, and be sorry, and beg God for pardon and cry out, “Lord have mercy upon me!”.

By doing this, God will cut away the sin from the record and pardon you!

Here’s a remedy.

Seriously consider that repentance is a mighty work, a difficult work, a work that is above our power.

What’s the understanding of the power of your sin in your life?

Can you stop it or change it?

What is “repentance”?

You can’t make the world.

You can’t raise the dead.

You can’t turn the heart of a sinner by breaking them.

You are as able to turn your heart from sin as you would be to turn a rock into flesh.

As people are duped into buying a counterfeit jewel, so many are in hell by mistaken repentance.

Many rest in “their” repentance and are actually dwelling in the shadow of repentance.

He that turns not from every sin, turns not aright from any one sin.

Every sin strikes at the honour of God, the being of God, the glory of God, the heart of Christ, the joy of the Spirit, and the peace of a man’s conscience; and therefore a soul truly penitent strikes at all, hates all, conflicts with all, and will labour to draw strength from a crucified Christ to crucify all.

A true penitent knows neither father nor mother, neither right eye nor right hand, but will pluck out the one and cut off the other.
