Introduction
We are preparing our hearts for Revival.
It is a spiritual war against Satan because He does not want revival to happen.
We have talked our need for revival, the importance of prayer, and of being humble.
Today we talk about the importance, the Battle Plan of Seeking.
In battle it is important to keep your commander in sight.
He is the one who gives you direction during the midst of the
chaos of war.
You know his voice, and you know who he is so that you can
follow his orders and achieve victory.
In this spiritual war that we are in, it is no different.
God is our commander and it is imperative for us to keep our eyes on Him at all times.
Passage

2 Chronicles 7:14

14 and My people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

For us to have victory, an important key is to seek God!

1. We must continually keep God in our sights.

God specifically says we must seek His face.
This means we must keep Him in our sights.
We do this by seeking Him with our heart and soul.

, NLT

…. if you search for Him with all your heart and soul, you will find Him.

We need to seek Him continually

, ESV

11 Seek the LORD and his strength; seek His presence continually!

We cannot be productive and useful in this spiritual war if we cannot see our Commander.

2. The more intensely we seek God, the clearer He becomes.

Many people say they can’t see God.
How intensely are you seeking God?
If you lose your cell phone, the world stops, and you look intensely for that dumb thing.
From my experience and from scripture I know that God is not hiding from those who truly seek Him.
We must desire and work to seek His face.
We have to humbly seek God.
We must come to the conclusion that our ways are not best but
His ways are.
We must realize that sin can hinder our intensity.
You can’t say that you are earnestly seeking God but still living
a sinful lifestyle.
Your intensity in seeking God is directly related to your
obedience to His Word.

, NLT

1 Listen! The LORD is not too weak to save you, and he is not becoming deaf. He can hear you when you call. 2 But there is a problem -- your sins have cut you off from God. Because of your sin, he has turned away and will not listen anymore.

You must focus on God.
You must take time to get away from the distractions of the
world to seek Him out.

, The Message

36 Give me a bent for your words of wisdom, and not for piling up loot. 37 Divert my eyes from toys and trinkets, invigorate me on the pilgrim way.

Our stuff can keep our focus off of God.
For you to experience revival, you must intensely seek God. What ever is keeping you from doing that, let it go!

3. The clearer God becomes, the more we realize that true living is all about God.

I really think the goal of revival is recognizing God for who He truly is and then following Him with all abandonment.
You must come to the realization that your life is not about you, but about God in you.
You must realize that your life is not about your plans, but about
His plans.
You then realize why you are here on this ball in the universe.
Then your everyday routines can have eternal significance.

, NLT

16 You didn't choose me. I chose you. I appointed you to go and produce fruit that will last, so that the Father will give you whatever you ask for, using my name.

You will have satisfaction in life and will be storing up treasures in heaven as you accomplish His plans and purposes in our life.

, NLT

6 So, you see, it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to Him must believe that there is a God and that He rewards those who sincerely seek Him.

Conclusion
It is important as we prepare our hearts for revival in the midst of this spiritual war to keep our eyes on God.
We must keep our sights on God.
We must intensely seek Him out and then He becomes clearer to
us.
We must realize that as God becomes clearer, our true living can
begin.
Have you even seen God yet in your life? Have you responded to
His call of salvation?
Scripture teaches us that even before we look for Him, He is
already looking for us.
However, there is a only a set time for us to find God.

, NLT

6 Seek the LORD while you can find him. Call on him now while he is near.

If you have never sought out God, now is the time. Once you die you cannot seek Him out for salvation. It will be too late.
Believer, you have sought God out and accepted His salvation through Jesus, however, are you seeking God out like you should?
We should live our life with no regrets. I challenge you as we prepare for revival to seek out God with all of your heart. Allow Him to become crystal clear in your life, and then follow Him with all abandonment.
Are you doing that? If not will you start today?
