So What

As we continue in our Sermon Series this is love - I got thinking!
Lots of songs about love
What is love
Whats love got to do with it
Love is all you need
During Christmas time people spend countless hours watching hallmark movies about 2 people who fall in love - they are all the same thing!
At Christmas we often have heard the phrase that Love was born - God’s love for a broken humanity sent ultimate sacrifice and so Jesus born of a virgin birth - coming from heaven to earth to show the way -
John 3:16 NLT
16 “For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.
Love walked the earth, He healed, taught, journeyed, redefined how we should live, then he gave up his life to reconcile people to God.
Death seems so cruel, so harsh, and so final. That is what the disciples were feeling when they saw their Lord, whom they had left everything to follow, hanging on the cross. They were devastated. Death had crushed them. But if they would have gone back in their memories, they would have recalled an important event and statement Jesus had made.

Laz story
John 11:25–26 NLT
25 Jesus told her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Anyone who believes in me will live, even after dying. 26 Everyone who lives in me and believes in me will never ever die. Do you believe this, Martha?”
Love conquers death! The Easter story screams this is love - love nailed to a cross
God has penned a list of our faults. The list God has made, however, cannot be read. The words can’t be deciphered. The mistakes are covered. The sins are hidden. Those at the top are hidden by His hand; those down the list are covered by His blood. Your sins are blotted out by Jesus.
He knew the source of those sins was you, and since He couldn’t bear the thought of eternity without you, Jesus Himself chose the nails. The hand is the hand of God. The nail is the nail of God. And as the hands of Jesus opened for the nail, the doors of heaven opened for you!
O how deep the fathers love for us!
1 Corinthians 15:54–57 NLT
54 Then, when our dying bodies have been transformed into bodies that will never die, this Scripture will be fulfilled: “Death is swallowed up in victory. 55 O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?” 56 For sin is the sting that results in death, and the law gives sin its power. 57 But thank God! He gives us victory over sin and death through our Lord Jesus Christ.
:
Jesus death and resurrection provse that love conquers death. Christ defeated death and rose again. Love rose again.
2 Corinthians 5:20 NLT
20 So we are Christ’s ambassadors; God is making his appeal through us. We speak for Christ when we plead, “Come back to God!”
How do we live as his representatives - do we speak, act and live in a way that proves that his Great love lives in us? Do we live as people who died to death and will rise with Christ
1 Corinthians 13:4–7 NLT
4 Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud 5 or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. 6 It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. 7 Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.
What is Love - Jesus
1 John 4:7–17 NLT
7 Dear friends, let us continue to love one another, for love comes from God. Anyone who loves is a child of God and knows God. 8 But anyone who does not love does not know God, for God is love. 9 God showed how much he loved us by sending his one and only Son into the world so that we might have eternal life through him. 10 This is real love—not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins. 11 Dear friends, since God loved us that much, we surely ought to love each other. 12 No one has ever seen God. But if we love each other, God lives in us, and his love is brought to full expression in us. 13 And God has given us his Spirit as proof that we live in him and he in us. 14 Furthermore, we have seen with our own eyes and now testify that the Father sent his Son to be the Savior of the world. 15 All who declare that Jesus is the Son of God have God living in them, and they live in God. 16 We know how much God loves us, and we have put our trust in his love. God is love, and all who live in love live in God, and God lives in them. 17 And as we live in God, our love grows more perfect. So we will not be afraid on the day of judgment, but we can face him with confidence because we live like Jesus here in this world.
Whats love got to do with it - It conquered death
All you need is love - This world needs Jesus, they need Love
Death is not the end of the story! The disciples witnessed it, We believe it! and we need to show love in the way that we speak, act and live - so that others who live in sin and defeat can know that Love (Jesus) defeated death and brings new life.
Do not live as people who are defeated but live as people of love
Lets live it out!
Sing - How Deep the fathers love
