Sermon Tone Analysis

The actions of Jesus.

There is present in his actions a unique claim of authority.

Jesus saw himself as one who had authority over the temple (Mk 11:15–19; compare 11:27–33), over the demons (Mk 1:27, 32–34), over the prince of demons (Mk 3:27), over sickness and disease (Mk 1:29–31, 40–45), over nature (Mk 4:35–41), over the sabbath (Mk 2:23–28) and even over death itself (Mk 5:21–43; Lk 7:11–17; Jn 11:1–44).

Such actions naturally raised the question “By what authority are you doing these things?

Who gave you this authority to do them?”

(Mk 11:28; Jn 2:18).

Such behavior carried with it a clear christological claim.

The Authority of Christ

This means that He is God

There is none like Him

He speaks

Authority in his doctrine (7:28-8:4)

He was a spokesman for God not the law

This does not mean that he is against the law but fulfills the law

The leper must be pronounced clean by the law

Authority in his actions (8:1-13)

All things are under Him

When he acts or commands all will obey

Authority in his words (8:14-17)

With his word he healed all the sick that were brought to HIm

Just as he spoke all things into existence

He had the authority to fulfill all scripture

We must have faith in the authority of Christ

After seeing this in the centurion Christ spoke of saving faith

Many doing accept Christ as an authority (or as God) and are therefor cast out

even those who are the children of the Kingdom

The acceptance of Christ is what receives a place

उहाँको परमेश्वरको सभामुख हुनुहुन्छ व्यवस्थाको हुनुहुन्न

येशूको काम भएपछि व्यवस्थाले त्यसलाई पक्क गराउँछ

उहाँको काममा अधिकार

सबै थोक उहाँको अधिनतामा रहन्छ

जब उहाँ काम गर्नुहुन्छ सबै कुराहरूले मान्छ

उहाँको वचनमा अधिकार

उहाँको वचनले सबै रोगीहरू निको भयो

जसरी उहाँले संसारलाई बनाउनुभयो

पवित्रशास्त्र पुरा गर्नलाई उहाँको अधिकार छ
