The word time is used quite frequently in the book of Ecclesiastes and specifically in the verse 8 verses.
The point Solomon is making is:
The timing of life’s circumstances should cause us to reverence God
There is an Appointed and Appropriate Time Concerning the Activities of Life, vs. 1-8
The Timing of all activities (purpose- matter: metonymy used for what someone takes delight in
Season- appointed time
Time- suitable moment or appropriate time
There are physical, emotional and spiritual implications to the timing of activities

To be born- to die
To plant- to uproot what was planted
To kill- to heal
To breakdown- to build up
To weep- to laugh
To mourn- to dance
To cast away stones- to gather stones
To embrace- to refrain from embracing
To search (to get)- to give up something up as lost

To keep silent- to speak

God is all knowing
He has foreknowledge- do you not think he knows what you are going to experience in life?
We pray for things but sometimes God just wants us to trust him.

We are to enjoy the present as long as we live, vs. 12

To do good in his life- enjoy your life
Man’s labor is a gift from God
Eat and Drink
Find satisfaction in your labor
It is a gift from God
Understand God is Sovereign Over All Things
The work of God is eternal
Nothing can be added or taken away
No one can thwart and change God’s will
For the purpose that man might fear Him
Depend and trust God
There is a repetition of events
The world goes round and round
We are not the first to experience it or the last.
Conclusion:
Examine the activities and events of your life.
God has allowed you to experience them no matter how joyful or painful.
Sometimes we cannot makes sense of the events of our lives but one thing we can do is to trust and lean on God who is over all things.
