Review from 1.11.98

Established the need for his Love

Isa 55:1-3

1 "Say there! Is anyone thirsty? Come and drink-- even if you have no money! Come, take your choice of wine and milk-- it's all free! 2 Why spend your money on food that doesn't give you strength? Why pay for groceries that do you no good? Listen and I'll tell you where to get good food that fattens up the soul! 3 "Come to me with your ears wide open. Listen, for the life of your soul is at stake.

Isa 55:7-13

7 Let the wicked forsake his way and the evil man his thoughts. Let him turn to the LORD, and he will have mercy on him, and to our God, for he will freely pardon. 8 "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways," declares the LORD. 9 "As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. 10 As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, 11 so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it. 12 You will go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and hills will burst into song before you, and all the trees of the field will clap their hands.

13 Instead of the thornbush will grow the pine tree, and instead of briers the myrtle will grow. This will be for the LORD's renown, for an everlasting sign, which will not be destroyed." (NIV)

13 Where once were thorns, fir trees will grow; where briars grew, the myrtle trees will sprout up. This miracle will make the Lord's name very great and be an everlasting sign [of God's power and love].(TLB)

Ÿ  Is anyone thirsty?

Ÿ  Why spend your money(life´s energy and substance) on food that doesn't give you strength?(satisfy)

Ÿ  "Come to me(stop waiting for him to come to you) with your ears wide open(ready to hear what he has to say).

Ÿ  Seek the Lord while you can find him.(there comes a time that our hearts can get so hard that we can´t find him)

Ÿ  Let men cast off their wicked deeds; (Lifestyle repentance)

Ÿ  let them banish from their minds the very thought of doing wrong! (Change our way of thinking)

Ÿ  Let them turn to the Lord that he may have mercy upon them, and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon!

Ÿ  This miracle will make the Lord's name very great and be an everlasting sign [of God's power and love]

John 4:5 Woman at the well! We are all born with a hunger for God! His Love!

Five substitutes for the real thing.

1.   Natutral relief and security.. money, easier life, security for the future etc.

2.   Relationship fulfillment.. Romantic, love, sexual fulfillment, homosexuality (substitution)no longer alone..

3.   Religious correctness..find a security and fulfillment in trying to please God.(difference between all religions and christianity)

4.   It will be better in the future..wishing, after death etc...

5. Hoplessness.. atheistic, pesimistic, escapism through dropping out of society, drug or alcohol abuse, TV, books(romance etc), living the lives of make believe heroes and those that succeed.

How does it operate?

The first relationship! Unto God!

Matt 22:37-40

37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets. (KJV)

·      These are relationships! Right? God commands it because that is where the blessing is!

John 1:1-11

1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 The same was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. 4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men. 5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. 6 There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. 7 The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe. 8 He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light. 9 That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world. 10 He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. 11 He came unto his own, and his own received him not. (KJV)

Lev 10:1-3

1 And Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, took either of them his censer, and put fire therein, and put incense thereon, and offered strange fire before the LORD, which he commanded them not.

2 And there went out fire from the LORD, and devoured them, and they died before the LORD.

3 Then Moses said unto Aaron, This is it that the LORD spake, saying, I will be sanctified in them that come nigh me, and before all the people I will be glorified. And Aaron held his peace.

·         Their goal was not to know God, but his Power!  I will be Sanctified, in them that come near me

·         Their goal was Position! Who is being glorified? I will be Glorified, before all the people

·         Not discerning Christ and his body The new teatament version of this!

Matt 7:21-23

21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

·      We are in true danger of being satisfied with having God around. of being around the presence of God, but not having the presence in us! How do we know? If we act like him!

The second relationship!

Unto others!

Acts 2:42-47

42 And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers. 43 And fear came upon every soul: and many wonders and signs were done by the apostles. 44 And all that believed were together, and had all things common; 45 And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need. 46 And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart, 47 Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved. (KJV)

2842  koinonia-

fellowship, association, community, communion, joint participation, intercourse

a) the share which one has in anything, participation

b) intercourse, fellowship, intimacy

the right hand as a sign and pledge of fellowship (in fulfilling the apostolic office)

c)   a gift jointly contributed, a collection, a contribution, as exhibiting an embodiment and proof of fellowship

·      Having something in common. How do we do that? What I have I give to you, then we have something in common. NOT me waiting for you to give me what you have!

·      Giving, makes a common connection, it forms a relationship.

·      Tithing? Offerings to the church? Where is my honour? I establish a regular connection when I give to God, why 10%? Honour God Mal.1:6, Honour Father and Mother Eph 6:2, Mk 7:10, Honour widows 1 Tim5:3, Honour Gods Servants 1 Tim 5:17,

1 Cor 11:17-30

17 Now in this that I declare unto you I praise you not, that ye come together not for the better, but for the worse. 18 For first of all, when ye come together in the church, I hear that there be divisions among you; and I partly believe it. 19 For there must be also heresies among you, that they which are approved may be made manifest among you. 20 When ye come together therefore into one place, this is not to eat the Lord's supper. 21 For in eating every one taketh before other his own supper: and one is hungry, and another is drunken. 22 What? have ye not houses to eat and to drink in? or despise ye the church of God, and shame them that have not? What shall I say to you? shall I praise you in this? I praise you not. 23 For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, That the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread: 24 And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me. 25 After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me. 26 For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death till he come. 27 Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord. 28 But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup. 29 For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord's body. 30 For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep. (KJV)

·      Ps 133:1-3

1 Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! 2 It is like the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, even Aaron's beard: that went down to the skirts of his garments; 3 As the dew of Hermon, and as the dew that descended upon the mountains of Zion: for there the LORD commanded the blessing, even life for evermore. (KJV)

·      *** This is where the joy is, where the anointing is, and where the blessing and life of God flows!***

Phil 2:1-4

1 If there be therefore any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels and mercies, 2 Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love(with each other), being of one accord, of one mind. 3 Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves. 4 Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others. (KJV)

I Jn 1:3-7

3 That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ. 4 And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full. 5 This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. 6 If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: 7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. (KJV)

·      That what we got from him we give to you so that you can have fellowship with us!

·      God is light(unconditional love)

·      If we say we have fellowship with unconditional love and walk in darkness(do not give that love to others) then I am lieing and not doing the truth. But if we walk in the light as he is in the light we HAVE FELLOWSHIP one with another and...
