God is working in us.

I want you to notice something, God is not working on us, God is working in us.
God is not changing us from the outside -in, He is changing us from the inside-out.
One is the work of religion, the other is the work of Salvation. Religion changing the outside, but ctually never gets arounf to changing the inside, the heart.
Matthew 23:27 KJV 1900
27 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men’s bones, and of all uncleanness.
God is working in you, and so there is mighty power at work in each and every one of your lives. Jesus has given us power.
Ephesians 3:20 KJV 1900
20 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,
1 Corinthians 4:20 KJV 1900
20 For the kingdom of God is not in word, but in power.
To live a full life, we need full power.

Spiritual Load Shedding

We have a national power crises. There is not enough power to go around and so we often find ourselves in a load shed.
Look at a factory or even at a home during load shedding - without power.
A factory and make product, it can manufacture, it can fabricate, it can employ, it can provide - it has trhe potential to do all thrse things, but without power - it can do nothing.
Look at a home. It can cool in the summer, heat in the winder, it can entertain, it can provide us with relaxation, it can cook food in the stove and preserve fod in the fridge, but without power it can do none of these thiongs, without power it can do nothing.
Look at at a office. It can communicate around the world, balance budgets, emply staff, promote prosperity and supply needs. But without power, it can do nothing.
look at a christian. they can preach the gospel, evengelise the lost, encourage the saints, pray for the sick, expound the scripture, train up disciples, support the kingdom, but in the words of Jesus:
John 15:5 KJV 1900
5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.
And that is the problem we face today in the church as well, powerless christians, but a christian is powerless NOT because of a lack of power supply.
But, i believe, because of a lack of power demand.
The power is here, the demand is low. Spiritual apathy is the enemy to spiritual authority.

Power from a Person

this power than the bible refers to, lets judst clear this us. power is not “energy”. this is not some spiritalist hogwash about positive energy. When the bible speaks about Power, it is speaking about a person - The Holy Spirit.
Acts 1:8 KJV 1900
8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
2 Timothy 1:7 KJV 1900
7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
Romans 15:13 KJV 1900
13 Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.
We have been given the hoky Spirit, to dwell in our lives, The Spirit of incredible power.
Romans 8:11 KJV 1900
11 But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.

Be Filled

Ephesians 5:18 KJV 1900
18 And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;
This verse is telling us to make sure that there is an constant, uninteruppted connection betwen us and the Holy Spirit.
In the same way that power comes into our homes through special conugits, God’s power also comes into our lives through dedicated channals, and an in the same way, if as cutting a wire, when you cut a channel, the power goes out.
What are these power connectors?

1: The Power of the Word

The Gospel is called the Power of God.
Romans 1:16 KJV 1900
16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
The Holy Spirit’s power manifests when the word of God it read, studies and meditated on. Faith comes by hearing.
The Bible is how The Power of God woks Inside of you.
1 Thessalonians 2:13 KJV 1900
13 For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe.

2: The Power of Prayer

Because the Holy Spirit is a person and not a force, we must persue a relationship with Him, throu prayer. Prayer in the power of the Holy Spirit is the only prayer that works. God does not receave any other prayers.
James 5:16 KJV 1900
16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

3: The Power of Fellowship.

Hebrews 10:25 KJV 1900
25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
Let me remind you that the Holy Spirit snd His power did not fall on individual christians who were sitting at home. It fell on the church when they were all gathered together.
Acts 1:13–14 KJV 1900
13 And when they were come in, they went up into an upper room, where abode both Peter, and James, and John, and Andrew, Philip, and Thomas, Bartholomew, and Matthew, James the son of Alphaeus, and Simon Zelotes, and Judas the brother of James. 14 These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren.

4: The Power of Praise

Nehemiah 8:10 KJV 1900
10 Then he said unto them, Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is holy unto our Lord: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the Lord is your strength.
