False Prophets (vs15)

The role of the prophet is to tell the word of God.

We can’t be ignorant of the fact that false prophets exist and cause great harm.

We have to test everything we hear by the Word of God.

We must be careful because the falsehood is intentionally deceptive

(2 Corinthians 11:14).

Their fruit (vs16-20)

False prophets claim that the narrow gate to life is wider.

False prophets are interested in worldly treasures.

False prophets celebrate immorality.

False prophets seek to expand their own kingdom.

The Consequences (vs21-23)

There is a reality of judgment, with some surprised at the outcome.

You will have to answer for yourself and what someone told you is no excuse.

Who have you really been listening to? (2 Timothy 4:4)

It’s important for us to see what those that Jesus “never knew” didn’t say.

Conclusion

People bump their head - oh be careful “little late”

Don’t wait until you do much more than smack your head
