Illustration: There’s a funny story about a man who went to the doctor after weeks of symptoms.
a. The doctor examined him carefully, then called the patient’s wife into his office.
- The doctor told her, "Your husband is suffering from a rare form of anemia."
- "The bad news is that without treatment, your husband will be dead in a few weeks."
- "The good news is that with proper nutrition, he should get better."
b. Here’s what the doctor told her to do:
- "You will need to get up early every morning and fix your husband a hot breakfast - pancakes, bacon and eggs, the works.
- He’ll need a home-cooked lunch every day, and then an old-fashioned meat-and-potato dinner every evening.
c. It would be especially helpful if you could bake frequently.
- "Cakes, pies, homemade bread - these are the things that will allow your husband to live."
- "One more thing. His immune system is weak, so it’s important that your home be kept spotless at all times."
d. So the wife walks into the examination room with a sad look on her face.
d. So the wife walks into the examination room with a sad look on her face.
- The husband, sensing how serious this is asked her, "It’s bad, isn’t it? "What’s going to happen to me?"
e. With tears welling up in her eyes, the wife blurted out, "The doctor says you’re going to die!"
Differently than the husband, We are 1 year old!! We will live for a looooooong time! Glory to God!

Brief Unchained history:

CONTEXT OF THE PASSAGE:

Apostle Paul was in Corinth. Jews continued persecuting him. Corinth was to become one of the most prominent churches in the New Testament.
God appears to Paul in a vision. Persecution in Phillipi, prison, almost dead.
We will take this passage and apply to our church today, with the following theme:

The Vision of God for Unchained Church

Encouragement

All of us feel discouraged sometimes, Paul did, but we cannot reside in there.
Fear is absence of faith
Many, many times the Lord gives us encouragement throughout Scriptures
No project can succeed with discouragement

Mission

As Paul, who brought the Gospel to Europe, we are a church on a mission! We know where we are going.
We have the responsibility of using everything in our power to win souls: social media, conversations, discipleship, home groups, music, special events, anything to fulfill the Great Commission!
Freedom, Discipleship and Scriptures. These are our banners!

Protection

No church can stand against the Enemy without the Lord’s protection.
We have to be aware of his attacks, not ignore them, but be assured of the protection of the Lord that says: “no weapon forged against you will prosper”. We have seen the protection of the Lord many times this first year. We are a beautiful church! We are a family!

Future

We have to understand that this a promise of the Lords
Philippians 3:12–14 NKJV
12 Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me. 13 Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, 14 I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
Phil
The people in this town belong to the Lord: “I have...”
Corinth became a great church, with problems, but very used by the Lord. So it will be with us! We have a plan, and the Lord will guide us. Our plan is a simple plan, just to follow the footsteps of the Master, and obey His command: “Go, and make disciples”.
Today, at one year old, we start walking, and trying more solid food, tomorrow we will run, and after tomorrow we will fly!
