II) Focus Our Thoughts on Jesus

To focus means to :
Fix our thoughts
minds
attention
Focus because of who we are:
Fix our thoughts
Holy brothers
set apart for Christ
not better than other
we have turned away from the evil of this world
Because we will take part in the heavenly calling
We have been called to live with Christ in heaven
Illustration: Man converts from Catholic to protestant. His brother is distraught, tells him he will lose his place in heaven.Man says he came to America to build this life, not an after life.
We focus because of who Christ is:
He is the Apostle of our confession.
APOSTLE: Sent forth as an ambassador
A special mission
Has the full authority of the king and country He represents
The Supreme Rep.
Supreme Messenger
All authority of God

III)Focus Our Thoughts on Who Build the House (V. 2-4)

Jesus was faithful just like Moses
Moses was
a leader over the House
The Law-giver
Nation builder
Prophet of God
in the eyes of the Jews
Moses did great things
But Jesus built the house
(NKJV)
3 But the Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one.
Jesus is worthy of more glory than Moses
Jesus built the world
Jesus built the universe
Jesus built the house of God
In verse 3 we see Jesus is GOD!
Because the builder is greater than the building
ILLUS: Building a house with cedar blocks. Most do nothing with the blocks after building, However, a good builder builds it to last. Placing re-bar and concrete inside each hole in the block.
That’s what Jesus has done.
The storms come, evil bashes against the building, However, nothing can hurt it because the builder was careful!
He built His church of believers to last
(NKJV)
18 And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.
(NKJV)
3 All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.

IV) Focus Our Thoughts on the Conditions to Enter the House.

The entrance to the House of Believers is cconditional
How do we come to enter?
By being strong until the end
Hold on to our confidence in the hope of salvation
hold on the the great joy of our salvation
Many today are
half asleep
easy distracted
letting the world get in the way.
(NKJV)
19 And I will say to my soul, “Soul, you have many goods laid up for many years; take your ease; eat, drink, and be merry.” ’
20 But God said to him, ‘Fool! This night your soul will be required of you; then whose will those things be which you have provided?’
21 “So is he who lays up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.”
