SBS:  I don’t set the schedule.
Just because I am not preaching does not mean that I am not here.
The powers that be bring in good preachers to relieve you from having to listen to me every week.
When people ask me how in the world I ended up as the Sunday morning preacher after Dr. Kennedy, I tell them that it was a very smart plan on the part of the session to lower expectations.
We know that we will never get another Dr. Kennedy.
The hope is that when we get a new pastor most of you will say “Well, he is no Dr.
Kennedy, but at least he’s not as bad as Sam.”

Intro:  Have you ever seen these trucks that have a sign on them that says “oversize Load?”
It is supposed to tell you to be careful going past them because they are carrying way more than they should be.
Some people are like that.
They go around carrying way more than they should be, some carry more guilt, some carry more criticism, others carry more pride.
Today I want for us to think about those loads and help us all to see how we can get rid of the oversize loads that resides in all of us.
I should tell you that I preach this message to myself as well as to all of you.
I think many times that I get more out of my sermons than anyone else does.
I’m the one that never falls asleep.
EVERY PERSON WHO IS HERE TODAY SHOULD STRIVE TO LOVE THE REAL CHRIST AND HIS SERVANTS AND GET RID OF THE SPIRITUAL OVERLOADS THAT EXIST IN OUR LIVES.

Jesus comes at the other and is called a drunk.
Note that both of these were capitol offenses in the Law.
See Deut.
13:1-11 about evil spirits; and Deut 21:20 about drunkenness  Fredrick Nietzhcie said /be careful when you fight a dragon that you don’t become a dragon.

Abraham Lincoln said this when faced with criticism during the war    If I were to try to read /much less answer, all the attacks made on me, this White House might as well be closed for any other business.
I do the very best I know how—the very best I can, and I mean to keep doing so until the end.
If the end brings me out all right, what is said against me won’t amount to anything.
If the end brings me out wrong, ten angels swearing I was right would make no difference./
c.
The attitude is unchristian-the greatest charge that can be brought against Christ is that he is a friend of sinners.
THIS CRITICISM GETS TO THE HEART OF THE GOSPEL EITHER IT IS TOO EASY OR TOO HARD.
JB WAS TOO HARD AND JESUS WAS TOO EASY (word drunkard means he drinks and does irresponsible things).
CHRISTIANITY IS EITHER A DIRGE OR A DANCE-WISDOM IS JUSTIFIED BY HER CHILDREN

The truth?
Some of you today find yourselves carrying oversize loads.
You move from yokefellow to yokefellow angry because they will not sing your dirge or dance to your particular music.
Put that aside, you will be so much happier and more satisfied in Christ.
There are others of you who have been run over by the oversize loads.
Today I can tell you to simply look to Jesus, who was perfect and yet still criticized.
