Their wool will grow
forever

You can never give
too much of yourself
for the Lord

necessary to
surrender parts of
ourselves to God

surroundings more closely
Avoid

Reluctant
to go where they can not

have excellent
hearing

amplify and pin
point sound with their
ears

respond best
to a quiet calm voice

smell – more highly developed than
humans
They know what predators smell like
Locate
their lambs with their sense
of smell
Use
Sense of smell to locate water
sources
Detect
differences in feed and
pasture plants
Know your enemy ( 1 Peter 5:8)
Search for the new Christian and
help them grow in their faith
Sheep know seek out food and
water , do you seek out spiritual food
Ability
to differentiate types of
feedstuffs
Able to seek out plants to help them
feel better
Healthy Sheep are eager to eat and
bleat with the anticipation of food
Almost always hungry – they spend
around 7 hours a day eating
Chew the Cud ( they have an intial
feeding, then it is regurgitated and
chewed on again before they reingest it
1st sign of a sick sheep is a lack of
appetite
PHYSICAL TRAITS OF SHEEP –
Taste
Our Spiritual
Psalm 119:15-16 I will meditate on Your
Appetite
precepts And regard Your ways. I shall
delight in Your statutes; I shall not forget
Your word
Healthy
Christians have a Healthy Appetite
for Spiritual Things
We
should always be hungry
We
should be excited to feed on God’s
word
Think about the way the sheep eats; they
don’t take it in just once but multiple times
We
need to spend time not just reading
and hearing the word but really taking it ,
digesting it and applying it
